BIG FAN over herein my little corner too. I'd love someone to somehow get him on ITT on a Friday. When you think of some, not many I'll admit, of the guests who clearly know very little about the current show and are a waste of time, He would come as a refreshing change

Forgot to say, the 'at deserves a thread all of its own

Haha! I love the picture. Sneaky teasey Trev. Blink and you miss him!

Dear Man in Hat, if you ever pop in again, can you tell us if the singers are Threatened by Giovanni's singing?

I almost missed it because he wasn't wearing his hat!

I guess there is etiquette that has to be followed at the Tower Ballrooms

(I waved back too.)

Thanks for the link Dtd.

And thanks, Trev, for the measured and rational take on the current brouhaha. Perhaps it's occurring because there is so much that is serious going on outside the SCD bubble. But getting outraged about that can make one feel helpless, where as this reality show tempest dissipates as soon as the teacup has been drained. Exciting but entertaining... and then we can still move on.

Dear All,
I've been meaning to pop in and say hello for ages. I hope you're all well and enjoying the series, it's a cracker.
I'm still well over in the corner and I try and sneek over next to JP (guitar) who seems to be the end of the shot to give you a wave. It's no big deal btw, there's more musicians over that side and only me, Jeff (keys 2) and Brett (drums) miss out. We're not exactly boy band material so we can't blame em 😃
I'm trying to think of telling you some secret or other but there isn't any to tell. Er, I had to borrow a bow tie from piano Pete in Blackpool, he has a smaller neck then me so had to gaffer it on me! We had Warren on violin this weekend for Katie and Antons dance and helps out on 'at last', brilliant player and top guy.
We've not got many left now, 4 with the Christmas show.
I best get off. Enjoy the rest of the series and keep talking to me on Twitter, you know I'll answer when I can. And keep being nice to each other.
See you soon.
Trev X

PS: the hat is doing fine and sends its love.

Last night was a great night for you guys! Loved the salsification (if this is a word) of the Jackson 5 and you did Prince proud.

Hi Trev,

Some stunning numbers from the band this year. Maybe I just haven't noticed them changing singers as much in the past?

The best rendition of When Doves Cry ever, and superb Lay Me Down, It's My Life, You Never Can Tell/Misirlou and See The Day, so a big , big thank-you from an Aliona and Jay fan.

The music is vital for a routine to be WOW!

Latest instalment from The Man in the Hat's Blog. Love this one -- all the little insights. Was Gio playing drums? (I thought so, or he looked like he'd been coached pretty well). The salsified Jackson 5. Katie and the coffee machine... It is a pleasure to read. Always is

Stop watching the girls' bottoms Trev!!

I honestly thought my family was the only one to shriek 'there he is' whenever Man in the Hat appeared on the tv and now i find he has a name and an appreciation thread

This is why i love DS despite the vitriol that can sometimes take over

Trev aka lovely Music Man in the Hat, how strange but wonderful that so many look out for you and feel you are such a big part of the enjoyment of live Saturday night music and dancing.

The SCD band rocks

How lovely of you to pop in and post. So appreciated, as is the wave when you get a chance. Hope they put you back behind Dave or the singers next year. That way we get a wave every week.

A big big congratulations to the band and all the singers for another amazing night. Special mention for Tommy and Hayley, so very brilliant...

Oh yes, and it was great to be 'conducted' by Dave Arch!

Please pass on my congratulations to everyone but especially to Hayley for having to cope with Puccini! She did an exceptionally good job with O Mio Babbino Caro.

Not my Maria Callas level but still blooming impressive for a none opera singer.

Just to say the band (including Trev of course) and the singers are consistently fabulous.
I'd love to see them all being the 'stars' one week.

hear hear!

they never get enough credit on the show - amazing people, every single one of them!

extra special well done to Hayley for not only doing it once but doing it twice - Puccini - she was amazing!

lovely to see Dave Arch too - he should open the voting lines each week
