These is my take on it:

The way I see it, Gary is one of those people branded "eccentric" and people have been calling him "crazy" for years. My view on this is that the ones branding him are simply misunderstanding him. Yes he had a terrible accident, yes it left him with a traumatic head injury, yes he had brain issues and yes he is old. None of that is the issue. Society brands people instead of accepting and trying to understand them. What should have been done, is for each housemate to individually approach Gary and speak to him about their "issue". Instead, we saw Gary do all the work and try to figure out why people had "issues" with him. This is so very wrong. People need to learn that no matter the situation, no matter what you're going through or have been through, no matter what type of person you are.. We are all equal. We all have a duty to help one another. Every single housemate in this show bar Audley, Frenchy and last night Lauren failed to do that. Gary may well have flaws but that no longer matters. What matters is that these "celebrities" have treated another HUMAN BEING like he didn't matter. A man who has a partner, 3 children, family, friends and fans who care about him. Gary deserves better.

That is all.

If they had rage, it should have been aimed at Channel 5/the producers.”

He's not mentally ill he's old. Yes he has had brain damage. Yes he is deaf. Yes he has a bad knee. But hes in there to get money for his charity that supports children with the desease his son has.
I agree channel5 has turned this show into a circus. Maybe with Viacom it will get better. Or I think I'll give it a miss. Not good for the soul to watch it.

Disgusting what with her and Helen. James should be ashamed of himself too. Just what is his problem.

You keep coming out with that. She has served her punishment and is taking opportunities. I wonder what you'd say if she didn't?

Stigmatising someone for life isn't good penal policy. I assume you don't believe in rehabilitation either.

In any case, you're not on any moral high ground with your continual condemnations and your seeming gleeful desire to want her punishment to last forever. Perhaps you think you're on safe ground there with a reason to censure her. (And, no, that doesn't mean I support theft, as you've also accused people of doing, and, yes, I am employed and pay a lot of taxes).

Well said Angel. Sadly though, when someone defends bullying like this, it makes it harder for anyone 'different' to be accepted and trust me, I know

- it must be hard in all honesty, they are all chopsing, over talking, interrupting, speaking fast. lauren came out saying James was the one who annoyed her most..she said she didn't like the way grown men spoke to "elderly men" ..Gary IOW.. and how he twisted things and blew things out fo proportion.
Ricci said he and gary were fine now, and he is great one to one - just not in a group
Edele said Gary was an easy target, and it was down to stress and offloading

lets recall Sam - who said he was quiet and didnt join in the chat as he couldn't hear with all the people talking- he backed out,to handle it, Someone like Gary, older and with more ego, self importance and confidence - goes the other way- he wants to listen and speak.”

*claps*
It annoys me that people think this mans disability isn't a 'good enough excuse' for his behaviour. Having a disability is really very frustrating at times. Especially when you're living with a group of people with absolutely no empathy between them.

Thank you yes I know. It's why Gary fans or just decent people need to make others aware of what is really going on. Education is the first step. By telling people what Gary's issues are, making them aware then eventually we can succeed in stopping this.

Absolutely Angel. We've had a few obstacles over the years with our children having mental disabilities. You never get hardened to it. One thing I've found is that a lot of understanding people come from poorer backgrounds, similar to Dee. They take in what you say and see the person for who they are. That is one thing that has upset me with Dee, I honestly thought she'd understand, whether I liked her or not.

Education is a must and it needs to start when children go to school

That's interesting. Probably too late (and some Gary fans wouldn't care if he blasphemed the Queen and spat at a camera. It would be 'sooooo funny').

So here we go again. The implied calumny that if you don't buy into the cult of Gary you're not a decent person or lack awareness of certain issues. Shameful.

By that token Dee is mentally ill. Depression if she still has it is classed as a mental illness.

Exactly what the post didn't say. Anywhere. It's your implication
What it said was he can be used as an example to explain a condition or conditions, and perhaps people's attitudes to disability can change.
