Didn't Sharon's dad and late husband get king Phlith banged up once?

First Sharon out for revenge and now Phil are not these people too old for such things.

They will be dead soon.

Really great episode imo, some brilliant scenes although they featured Carters so those who get hung up over surnames won't be happy. Aunt Babe vs Cora was every bit as good as I thought it would be. Cora works really well with the Carters, it was nice to see her in family unit. (I'm starting to sound all vaslav, aren't I? )

I really hope Nancy realises the truth sooner rather than later and this doesn't lead to her not believing Linda about the rape. I liked that Nancy just came out and told Linda she knew, usually they let these things fester for a few episodes/weeks first.

Nancy will not believe her. And that could be a big problem. Linda should have told Mick.

Good episode.

Brilliant stuff tonight.
EastEnders might have had a poor summer but it's back to it's best now and actually it's the best it's been since early 2011

Her words werent helpful.
She should've said Dean came onto her & she wasn't interested, thus embarrassing him publicly. Her words "i've dealt with it" won't help her later. Its too ambiguous. Clever choice of words though.

Gone for a strong 9 in the poll. Should have been an hour because 30mins wasn't enough.

Voted the episode 2 / 10.

Too many Carters for my liking, and I'm getting bored of all the 'fairmmleee' celebrations.

Only good bit was Phil telling Shirley to get lost.

Linda is not encouraging him. But she's not being blunt enough. ( well the slap was pretty blunt enough but he misconstrued it)

Love the carters.
Babe,Stan,Mick and Linda are fast becoming legends in my book.

Shirley however should get lost.

I was wondering why she didn't tell Nancy that Dean came onto her but then I realised: she probably thinks that Nancy knows it wasn't consensual and therefore she's still trying to protect Dean from Mick's anger by trying to reassure Nancy and get her not to say anything. The penny didn't drop for me until she said 'I've dealt with it' - she's trying to reassure Nancy that Dean won't try it again, not realising that Nancy thinks the kiss was reciprocal.

It's very clever the way they're doing it.

Agree.
She should just tell him to 'F' off and kick him in the balls.

Really she should have told Mick but there is more drama in a reveal and of course the
Spoiler
because when Mick finds out he
Spoiler
her he will kill him

All the Carters under one roof. Should be good, right? Right??

So, in what is a surprise to absolutely noone, Phil was using Shirley the other night, because he was angry at Sharon. And yet, she always bounces back for more. Phil will always drop Jay like a tonne of bricks whenever Ben is mentioned. And yet, he too bounces back. Tell me... what is so appealing about a 50 year old, alcoholic, violent, bald, thug who treats the people he loves horribly and everyone else with disdain? I don't know, but Shirley's obsessed with him.

The rest of this episode was... meh I don't even know. Filler at it's absolute most. The superb Timothy West once again easily acted everyone off the stage, as I still, still can't figure out Stan. He's loving every second of having his family round him. He might not be a particularly nice bloke, but he does seem to genuinely care about them all and love being with them. And then, he goes and breaks Babe's dish. If I'm honest, most of the bad things about Stan we've heard seem to have come from her poison lips. She hates him. He her. I don't know why she's suddenly declared war on Cora (what, exactly, is the point of her doing that, like at all... I'd understand if she was fighting for Stan's affections, but she isn't), but I'm still team Stan for now. Saying that, I think both of them are manipulative people.

The other star of the show was the always brilliant Maddy Hill as Nancy. If this episode did anything, it was to set up more stuff for the coming up rape. Nancy isn't going to believe her mum. And, considering how close she is to her Dad, and considering everything we know about the Carters, I don't think Mick will either.

Lee and Johnny continue to annoy me. Tina and Tosh continue to bore me (baby. Again.). Shirley I'm a little indifferent towards at the moment. But, on the whole, still enjoying the Carters.

This one was... OK. I guess.

I didn't think of it like that, but looking back it definitely seems like Linda felt Nancy's anger was addressed at Dean and not her as well. I agree it was clever way of approaching the scene, Linda will probably realise what Nancy really thinks tomorrow.

Yeah, I think Linda will realise, but by that point it will probably be too late. Nancy is very headstrong so probably won't listen to anything else Linda says about it, as she'll see it as an 'excuse' rather than the truth.

I just hope that this doesn't paint Nancy in an unsympathetic light when the rape happens. I think we may even see Dean manipulating her at some point to keep her believing that him and Linda were having an actual affair.

I can't decide who is the bad guy, Stan or Aunt Babe. I'm thinking Babe has been feeding things to Shirley to keep her on side. She showed Stan affection and Babe shot it right down. Very interesting. More references to Sylvie - doesn't sound like she was a good mum at all - can't wait to meet her.

Sucks to see Shirley and Dean progressing only for Dean to rape Linda.

Loved Stan tonight - smashing the trifle bowl - harsh.

Aunt Babe - loved her too.

Was a Carter heavy episode but less happy clappy and I actually really enjoyed it tonight.

Anyone else get the feeling Stan is dying? He keeps referring to his demise...

Tim West, Linda Henry and Annette Badland were the stars for me tonight.
