I think it's either or for both people. I own an Ipod touch though as it's useful when my battery goes low.

I expect Apple to bring out a 4.7" Ipod touch so people might have more choice.

I think it will be fine. My hands aren't especially big.
Still going down to Plymouth to the Drake's Circus Apple store on the 19th to check them out first though.”

I really don't think I'll get the 6+. But would like to see the design of all of them.

See you at Drake's Circus,

iPhone 5S”

I'm on a 4S now, I think if I were upgrading I'd be very tempted to do the same. However, I think I'll hold onto the 4S another year (I guess this'll likely be its last major iOS update). ~£500 is a lot to splash out, and I'm still relatively happy with my trusty 4S.

Why would you run with a phone when you can wear an Apple Watch?

Not sure if that comment is sarcastic or not? The watch uses the phone's GPS, so if you want to track your workout you'll need to take the phone too.

And the obvious answer would be not everyone can or wants to pay for both

£539 for a non 1080p screen..Don't think I will be ditching my Nexus 5 for it.

Nice try.

The 6 plus is 1080p anybody who is bothered about numbers would go for that. Experts say there would be very little different between them anyway.

No doubt we will be getting told this better screen business for years to come with curves glass and flexible displays.

Would much prefer if they worked on other areas of the phone and improve them.

I currently have a Nexus 5 and have done since launch (ditched my iPhone 5 for it).
I cannot wait for my iPhone 6 to arrive next Friday.
The Nexus is good for the price, but is not for me. The camera is awful. I think the iPhone 5 gave a far superior experience in every way.

Roll on next Friday

I'll probably get the 6 rather than the 6+ as the 6+ seems a little large for me

If you happen to watch a lot of HD video on your phone, fair enough.

But other than that, and maybe some high end games, what actual advantage is there in a phone display being 1080p?

I've decided on the 6 for this year I will try and get hands on a 6+ later to see if I like it or not.

If i like it I will go for the 6s + next year!

Viewing photos?

The same reason Apple made a big deal of Retina?

Photos and video is where the 2K screen on the G3 comes into its own. On images with a lot of fine detail, you CAN see more than on a 1080 display.

But for everything else, 530-odd PPI is madness and unnecessary. It doesn't really add any value to web browsing or using normal apps. LG's text sharpening also spoils things, but that's software and not a failing of the display itself.

4K on a home TV will work the same. For a lot of existing and upscaled content, you won't see any real difference but on newer content, and certainly things with text or high contrast, it's going to be amazing.

It would have been good for Apple to just use 1080 on both the iPhone 6 and 6 plus, and then also have the 'enhanced' apps in landscape mode for both. Easier for developers too.

I believe the real reason behind the 6plus is the impact the bigger Android phones are
having on the iPad Mini rather than the iPhone itself.

Most people don't want to carry two devices for reading/watching and making calls etc and that's where the Android phones have been successful in finding that compromise.

If iPad apps run successfully on the bigger phone and Apple announce a 12' pro iPad for the business/creative sector (arguably a first step to combining Macbook/iPad in due course) then the writing is on the wall for the Mini. The 6+ is a way of maintaining the Mini users within iOS by offering a similar experience within the phone ecosystem.

@Erlang WHY would you want an iPhone 5s??? Crikey I'm literally counting down the days until December until I can get rid of mine. HATE it so much now tbh.

Aren't you bothered about having an "Old" phone compared to the newer 6 and 6+? I sure am!!

I printed off the template for the 6 Plus, and I've attached it to a piece of cardboard. I'm quite surprised to find that, despite it being much larger than my 5s, it doesn't in any way feel awkward. I'm actually quite liking how it feels in my hand. I hope I feel the same when I actually received the phone in about a months time.

I don't think its going to make a huge difference with photos.

Video, yes, because the native resolution of the content will be match the native resolution of the device.

But in terms of clarity of anything else, I'm not convinced there's going to be that much in it.

Got a 128gig gold 6 Plus from EE for £509 on a two year contract, unlimited calls and texts, 20gig data for £38 a month. I had the money for the handset, so why not? Don't quite know how long 20gig will last me, hopefully the month!

I wonder how many other people are upgrading just because they're scared that their peers will look down on them as poor or unsuccessful if they don't get an iPhone 6 on launch day?

Maybe having an old iPhone also means you're crap in bed? Damn, my last iPhone was the first 3G model!

Lots of people buy last years phone once it's reduced. 5C will continue be popular too.
