What are the chances you will be able to AirPlay from iPad to TV as that function is currently not allowed, which for me makes it a waste of space?

I would have thought no chance - on-demand on tablets is just that, not a way to get it on your TV, so is almost always blocked.

Why the need for AirPlay from iPad to TV when you can already view 4OD on your TV via your free time box?

If you want to watch ondemand on the TV, why not buy a Nowtv box? Its has all the on demand services on it and only costs 9.99 pounds. You dont need to pay an ongoing subscription to use it. It has a permanent HDMI connection to your TV set. Perfect for 4OD (or ITV, BBC, C5)

Just looked at the Now TV website:
http://www.nowtv.com
There's an ongoing subscription of £9.99 a month.

That's for Sky Movies.

Start your 30 day free trial of Sky Movies, then it's just £8.99 a month until 16 October, £9.99 a month thereafter.

Surely there's no charge for the free catch up services.

If you read further you can keep your box and use the free apps if you cancel a subscription service.

My mistake.
Having read further, once you buy the box you can keep the apps without paying a subscription. In that case it's a no-brainer if there is no other way that you can get the catch-up TV apps, and Spotify, etc.

It's not exactly clear on the website is it ? It does also say you need a subscription for Spotify. Spotify now has a free option (ad supported) on all the platforms I have access to.

I agree if you don't have any other way (eg Smart Phone/Tablet) at £10.00 it's a no brainer.

Because there's a difference in what they offer. If you register with them you get to watch stuff that's not available from the TV app, a lot more programmes on offer. You will notice there is no option to sign in from the Freesat app. However, there is no facility to use Airplay from the Tablet to the TV via ATV as it's blocked.
