Eastenders is suited for autumn/winter.
Eastenders (possibly most soaps) are just so much more appealing during cold dark nights, thinking DTC has obviously picked up on this, hence so many explosive storylines coming up.

with all the rain and wind but very little frost/snow ect this one will be one of the coldest so having a strong EastEnders is good. I do think they should try a little harder in the summer months though. |

EastEnders defnintely is, it suits a cold, dark Northern European climate. Our Nordic ice maiden Ronnie killed Carl on New Year's Day- it wouldn't have been as good in the summer in my opinion. Plus people are indoors more in the winter.

The evidence is in the ratings. EastEnders gets 2-4 million extra viewers on top of what it gets during the summer during the winter.

Would maybe help if they didn't basically shut up shop for most of the summer. Not really a good tactic for a show that is still trying to claw back viewers.

Letting the cleaners write the scripts for the summer might explain why soaps do so poorly for 2 months.

It is when more people will sit down to watch TV and tbh I think given the fact we had no proper winter last year

Are we in for a cold winter? For a September it's been quite warm
As a rule thought September is usually pretty warm and it was warmer than this last year. |

I agree they should save their stronger plots for the Autumn/Winter, but how about at least give long-term fans something to watch in the Summer? This summer was so boring!

Yes! They are saying that the coldest for like 45 years however a warm period until late October/Early November.
As a rule thought September is usually pretty warm and it was warmer than this last year. coldest for 45 years? wow best invest in a coat this year. so eastenders has 2 million casual viewers who like the sun. maybe a skin cancer storyline on one of the market people would be a good idea, scare those 2 mill casuals into submission and summer watching |
