I accept it is possible that both Gary and Audley have done or said something which may have upset some viewers had it been screened, but James and Dee have seriously misjudged the situation if they imagine that bad-mouthing them both constantly is a good strategy. Don't they give any thought to all of the titbits of information about viewer opinion they've been fed? Apparently not. The desperation is laughable now.

Probably mostly because he's visiting the country he is. If he was back in Texas or Hollywood there'd be no reason he should. But sitting in a house in Hertfordshire, he probably SHOULD know.

Then again it's Gary. He may not even know who's leading the US Government.

He knows about the US government. During the last Republican Primaries for President he threw his support behind Newt Gingrich. Then he withdrew several hours later.

He also thinks it would be a good idea for Trump to be president.

Err, did you watch BOTS when they were doing the 'general knowledge test' on civilian BB - only two knew who he was and he's THEIR Prime Minister! Do you know the names of the Prime Ministers of Germany or France? (without Googling!)

Not knowing who the leader of a country you're not a resident of, isn't thick. He may or may not know.

That said, I do think the context of what she was saying matters. When saying that someone started an investigation into her situation, the leader of the nation isn't who I'd think would be doing it.

Seriously? What is it, you think before an American shows up to do Celebrity Big Brother they should study everything about the governmental structure of the UK? Or is he supposed to have obtained the knowledge by osmosis just by being in the country?

In fairness to Dee, she was clearly using contrast to make a point... saying that Gary's approach toward the UK in being surprised that things were up to the same standards he was used to... was as if it were like that, in her view.

Oh baloney. You know that Gary didn't ask whether there was electricity in the UK.

Personally, I find it really rude to assume that because you have certain things or are used to certain things a certain way wherever you are from, it will be the same in a foreign country. Asking whether they have something is not an insult.

But in Dee's inimitable way, she can turn (or try to turn) anything he says into him being rude.

But I'll bet you know who is the leader of the USA.

That was just an example she was using to show the contrast, in the way i saw it.

We haven't heard every single conversation, it's possible that Gary's approach to certain things has been in such a way, at least in Dee's view. I didn't think she was out of order there, it was her perspective and opinion.

...and i'm no Dee fan, can find threads before the series even started to where i dreaded her even being on the series... fairness is more important than my dislike for Dee, however.

Interesting.

Trump and Gingrich are very far right politically in the states. Trump, as a presidential candidate, is considered to be a joke.

Actually if someone didn't know at least who the leader of Germany or France was I'd probably think think they were pretty limited and insular , I wouldn't say thick but it definitely shows a strange lack of awareness of really basic common knowledge.

Neither,

David Cameron is a moronic, dish faced twit, why would anyone with an ounce of sense remember him unless they had to?

The only reason we know who he is, is because he's rammed down our throats 24/7.
