Ridiculous, she was just finding something else to pick at. I lived in Canada for 20 years and I still google to see if certain things are available here and the amount of times I asked my sister if they sold a specific thing here was annoying lol. You can be talking about something and just say, Oh I really miss that, do you sell it here, hamburger helper for example, or Kraft dinner. Really miss the proper coffee cream
I annoyed a co-worker recently as my daughter has had so much trouble trying to find a job as people don't want to look at 16/17 yr olds due to insurance etc. I explained that Canada has a student job centre that they set up in the summertime and wondered what the difference was as to why they don't do that here and she rudely told me if it was so much better, then go back to where I came from. Said I originally came from Burnley, and no thanks lol. It was just a general ponderance but some people take things the wrong way. He was probably talking in general about some things and just said do you have that here as a passing comment so maybe they could understand what he was talking about better. Tried to explain about a Supernatural convention my daughter is going to and I likened it to comic-con in the States so they would understand better. It's just natural conversation
