I simply added to this thread rather than a more recent one, because it came top on Google. Which is the best strategy, since parent and child parking spaces, and the arguments for / against them, are the same as they were 10 years ago.
Some forums actually encourage you to add to existing threads rather than start new ones.
And I haven`t started any thread on parent child parking spaces, so what do you mean ?

Your recent thread about the over allocation of disabled parking addressed the topic and you expressed your views in great detail on the subject.

You should read the guidelines for this forum, because they tell you to start a new thread in this situation i.e. "If a thread has long since died a natural death, a fresh thread should be made if you wish to continue discussion.".

It's annoying, as it's easy to be caught out and reply thinking it's a recent one then realise you've wasted time replying to an old thread that may no longer be as relevant, having spent time reading it to catch up and in which most of the contributors have disappeared by now.

A thread on the possible over allocation of disabled parking places is not a thread on parent child spaces. In fact it wasn`t even me who bought up parent child spaces on that thread, I just answered posts which were obviously made by those who don`t understand the purpose of parent child parking spaces.

I get your point, but if Google is bringing the thread up, then surely, by one important definition, it`s still active, i.e. being read.
