Yep - sorry to disappoint you.

The owners of the carpark have the right to set rules for the car park. Any breaches of those rules and the law backs them up in imposing fines.

If a private car park has disabled spaces then if they are used inappropriately (by a non-disabled driver) I would think that the owner of the car park would have to enforce the rules of who can or cannot park there.

You attitude highlights everything that's wrong in our society where people think that they are the most important person in the world and rules don't apply to them.

A rude awakening awaits you one of these days. It's all about karma.

Look here and then tell me you won't get a ticket. It is just a matter of time until you get a ticket or a damaged car. Personally, I hope its your car that gets trashed by an erant trolly.

£50 fine for bay abusers
Two major supermarket chains have begun fining non-disabled people who abuse disabled parking bays in a clampdown on misuse.

Tesco and Asda have launched nationwide trials to punish drivers without a blue badge who use disabled bays. Tesco is running the trial in 20 stores and charges £50, reduced to £25 if fines are paid within 14 days. Asda’s trial covers 100 stores, and the fine is £40, which is reduced to £20 if paid within ten days.

Both stores say non-payers will risk being taken to court. An Asda spokesperson said: “This is behaviour which cannot be tolerated.”.

DN editor Mary Wilkinson said: “This is terrific news, just what our readers want to hear. I hope other stores will follow their lead.”

The need for tougher measures was highlighted last month, when a survey for the RAC Foundation found that 500 people (14 per cent of drivers questioned) admitted abusing disabled bays.

All I said is that I park in parent and child because I am sick to death of my doors getting damaged. You seem to find it funny to say that you hope my car gets damaged by a trolley why? You must be some kind of thick bastard.

The Disable Act means no one can no longer discriminate, they have to be treated the SAME as anyone else.

Bit of advice: Put yourself in a trolley and roll of a cliff... try not to damage any cars, unless it's your heap of crap

But we all have cars, otherwise we wouldn't be using the car park. Why is your car more important than anyone else's?

You were the one that raised the issue of disability

It's not more important than anyone elses. When I get out of my car, I am careful not to bang the door against others. I am fed of people hitting mine without a care in the world. How would you like your car door full of scratches, bumps, dents etc? We pay alot of money for a car. Why shouldn't we want to keep it nice looking?

I drive a nice car too and don't like to get it scratched so when I don't have my kids I park right at the very back of car parks. THis is probably safer than the front as there arent so many people wandering around with trolleys. I have been tempted to scratch cars when I see people getting out with no kids in those spaces but im too scared of getting caught LOL! I hope one day someone with more balls than me comes accross your car.

Candy, obviously you don't understand the psyche of the average young male. It is as follows:- 'I've got an expensive car and a big dick, I'll park wherever I fooking well like.'

But you seem to think it is more important than making shops accesable to disabled people.

Granted I raised it about disability because it's a fact.

Fair enough you were just showing about the cases in court but read it again ... it's a TRIAL.

As for rolling off a cliff... I'll push you if you like.

Would you care to apologise

I didn't actually say that I park in disable places.

And yeah why not... supermarkets have wheelchairs available don't they? And yeah my car is important to me.

Er.... a threat... no I don't think so because I ASKED you if you would like me push you off... didn't say I would though. If you said "no thanks" fine, no problem, I just made the offer. No fee!

Oh I thought the big expensive car was to compensate for a distinct lack of size !

You do realise that the Act doesn't mean that disabled parking spaces are available to all, don't you?

If not, I think you must be referring to yourself in the first sentence.

So, park your car across the car park where there are more spaces, and walk your lazy (and probably unfit and oversized) @rse across to the shop! Be grateful for being able to do something others cannot! Arrogance such as this is a sad reflection of our times.
May you never have the justified need to use the disabled spaces kindly provided by store car parks.

You bloody tell him Malaikah. I'd invite anyone who uses Disabled Parking spaces when they are not entitled to come shopping with my sisters in law. Both are young women in their early 30s and both suffer from Muscular Dystrophy, they are not yet in wheelchairs but will be. Walking is a painful experience and often results in falling without warning yet they are both fiercely independent and still want to shop for their families. And why shouldn't they? Their right to carry out a normal life with dignity and with as less pain as possible is far more important than your right to park in a larger car space because your bloody car might get scratched.
