She won because some people took a dislike to a pretty and bright young lady from Ireland.

That is not true and very regrettable that people can't understand a like for someone that they don't like.

With the sort of money it would take for a syndicate to get involved, the odds would've kept tumbling until their chosen selection was favorite, or very close to it, while Ashleigh's odds would have lengthened so the books could balance their P/L. I was checking the markets regularly and none of that happened. No syndicate. But I do believe Helen's win was fixed from the inside so I've little doubts 1 or more of those linked to it took full advantage of the pre-knowledge and made some easy money by backing Helen and/or laying Ashleigh...”

Are you one of a syndicate I never said they would put on a one of bet of 10k but if you get 40 or 50 punters spreading £50 to £100 bets over 15 or 20 bookies it would not be hard to get a lot of money on without arousing suspicion if they can do very hard stings on sport BB would be a walk in the park

I wouldn't say that. She's not little .

Nothing wrong with the fact she's Irish. Helen says she's half Irish.

We have known for some time that Helen won because of betting syndicates, the pass to the final was a gift for them.

Aint that the truth? I really can't get my head around how people fail to understand why we all like different housemates. If you don't happen to support the forum fave there must be something strange or wrong with you.

Some people simply have to be always in the right, always in right, always in the right

you would need to work out how many votes at a minimum of 50p a go you can afford to make sure of a win could be costly and 20/1 doesn't seem like great odds for a syndicate bet,

Wouldn't you say the Ashleigh campaigns set the standard? There was no such insidious campaign for Helen though. She just got the GBP vote and many, many people disliked Ashleigh, so it's no surprise she didn't win.

£100 at 20-1 = £2000 = 2000 votes at 50p and £1000 profit.

Any syndicate worth its salt wouldn't bother with such small profits, but a small syndicate of 100 could work for a small time criminal, taking just half the profit each (£500) and making the boss £50k profit.

Sure, it's small fry and not comparable to the hundreds of millions that change hands elsewhere, but in a small market with little tv exposure there was every opportunity for a group or groups to do this.

Wasn't she 33-1 at one stage? She was certainly 25's at one point in the final week.

Sometimes, it's understandable; sometimes it's not. There's no general "people can't understand a like for someone that they don't like."
