A new thread so you can get nostalgic about the little moments that stick in your head in EastEnders.

Not big plots like 'Who shot Phil?' Or the Stax reveal, moments like little looks between characters or random conversations or scenes you've enjoyed.

I'll kick off... One that always sticks out for me was (and I'm sure this is because of John Barton's death that it's made me reminisce) but when Sharon returned in 2001 and she realised Jim was the potman, he asked for a pint and she said "No worries. I'll keep it behind the bar for you. Bring up some mixers" and the look that both Jim and Dot had on their faces made me howl.

Oh yes I remember that!

Didn't Pat throw Shirley over a car or something?

I loved the Pat/Shirley fight, I've tried no end to find the scenes from the police station but to no avail!

Sam digging up Den. And Sharon slapping Chrissie at the Airport.

Heather taking Shirley to that convention in SouthEnd as her 'lesbian lover' and Shirley striding in with Bonnie Tyler's 'Total Eclipse of the Heart' in the background!

Pat and Peggy getting drunk in the ice cream van!

Phil on the sauce trying to figure out how to work the games console and then realizing he hadn't switched it on.

A more recent one was Ian's face when Mick was revealed to Phil as Shirley's brother - his face was a picture!

I could go on. Ha!

Perhaps the highlight of a somewhat damp year!

I agree 2012 was a very weak year overall and Sharons return was terrible. Its saving grace was when she reunited with Ian who was struggling with his mental issues at the time. It was great to see these long time close friends, and only original characters share scenes with so much chemistry and history between actors and characters

Dot trying a curry from Masala Masood, she shouted for Bradley and said "Heaven help me! This curry is hotter than the flames of Hell"...I loved that scene!

Zainab sining in front of Amira, Syed and Christian. Absolutely horrendous voice but so funny.

Pauline and Peggy arguing in the Vic,

Pauline: "and what's this, strawberry blond at 70"
Peggy: "shut up I'm not 70"
Pauline: "No but you look it"

Michael's forensic one liners whilst stalking around the square like a human preying mantis.

He was such a brilliant character and all thanks to the input of SJS - if TPTB had had their way he would have been just another boring womaniser.

And that beautiful scene in the Armchair of Doom just before his demise - listening to Schubert's Schwanengesang D 957 : no 4.

Wonderful.

I wish he was still on the show.

It's already been said but I really miss Michael and his quotes as well, I remember one time where he was arguing with Joey and he said something like "look at you. With your ridiculous biceps. I'm not scared of you" and I rewinded it over and over again.

Generally it's the smaller things I love about Eastenders. The family dinners, the nights of Dot conversating in the Queen Vic, the lock downs. I also love when they have poker nights every six months to a year.

I agree - you can always tell when EE is on the skids, when those little quirky moments are missing. Recently, I loved this scene with Mick and Linda and Lady Di: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G2YIBzVYv1s (sorry about the quality).

Another moment I loved was Sharon's 2001 return - it was a brief moment at the end of an episode, brilliantly done for maximum impact: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7u1YtePPbk

Alfie chucking Kat out of the Vic after he found out about her and Derek and then telling everyone else, GERRAAARRAAMEPUB!

Shirley singing Wimoheh on the karaoke, badly!

Pauline finding out about Arthur and Hotlips affair and boffing Arthur over the head with a frying pan.

This scene between Jim and Dot is a golden moment and makes me laugh every time, particularly Dot trying to get Frank's attention at the start of the scene before Maureen catches them "A-say Frank! Ooh errr"

Also does anyone remember when Dot got a computer, think it was around 2007? And she hit her webcam by accident and got frightened seeing her face on the monitor looking back at her Wish I could find that clip!

Pat and Peggy's "You bitch!" "You cow!" is iconic as well and I love that they repeated it in 2008 when they were fighting over Frank's death.

Some great choices above.

Dot accepting Jim's marriage proposal.

Zoe, Dennis and Sharon having a bitch fight. Sharon pulls a mock hurt face when Zoe makes a catty remark. Dennis mouths '****' to himself at the end. It was hilarious.

Shirley and Alfie recreating Basic Instinct. I was in fits of laughter and it was really cleverly done.

Frank and his 'pilchard' catchphrases.

Kat thinking she was giving birth & Shirley making the David Attenborough comments.

To add on to that, just before the whole beet root thing & Kat said to Heather: 'Careful or else you'll turn into a beet root an' all!'

I don't remember the Alfie/Shirley BI thing, when was that? You mean Alfie was lucky enough to get a glimpse of Shirley's infamous muff?
