Gary's perspective

Please hear me out. Let's try to look at it from this amazing man's point of view.

Keep in mind that this is celebrity big brother. Regardless of what you think, everyone in there is a public figure. A public figure and celebrity are different.

Okay. So imagine you're Gary, you're a well known actor and personality in America. You love trying new things and opwning your heart to wonderful ecperiences. You're so excited to go on a show and introduce yourself better to the GBP. You get placed in a house with 13 other people, some you barely know and others you've never heard off. You try your best to speak to everyone, to get to known them. At first everyone loves you, they are in awe of you. They ask about your career, what's it like to be so famous etc. Then all of a sudden things change and you have no idea why. You're just being yourself. You don't think you've done anything wrong. People are telling you that you're disgusting, dirty, old, rude and all sorts of things. You try to explain about your brain and your hearing loss but no one's interested. They're aware you are different, but the majority of them don't care why. Not many of these people want to gwt to know you. But that's okay because you know that you're here for a reason. Over the course of the show you male friends, you get put into situations that can sometimes be scary, you become aware of the fact that people don't like you well, they hate you! You try to take on board what these people arw saying to you, you listen and you do what you can to make it easier for them. Bit by bit all your friends go and your left with people who really don't like you bar a few. But guess what? You're in the final! YAY!!! This is awesome. Others don't see it that way, but for you this is amazing. You know that most people would have cracked if that had to endure what you have. But you're different. You see the positives in every little thing and have so much love that it's impossible for it to break you down. It hurts and it's tough to put up with but it won't break you!!

Please vote for Gary. He is an extremely brave man to have come in this house. Say what you want about him, call him crazy or any of the other things the HMs have. We are all equal as human beings. Gary has truly been on the "journey" that everyone talks about. He deserves to win. If you can, please give a little of the love back that he always has so much of.

And ? looks like an unfinished thought to me. Perhaps you have been listening to Gary too much with his pseudo psycho babble ?

You lost me after "Let's try to look at it from this amazing man's point of view."

He's not imo an amazing man. He's just a celeb on a celeb RTV show, doing what he's done on other RTV shows. He's been pretty entertaining along the way but he's also been a pain in the ass, just as irritating and annoying as other HMs and just as much at the root of a lot of the fallout in there.

Why he needs to be sanctified or seen as something he's not is beyond me.

He's been a great HM. Is that not enough?

Maybe we're supposed to pick up the thought and, inspired by Gary, fill the thread with his wonderousness?

Better wait for someone who sees the wondrousness then because it looks like I see him just as you do !

Gary to himself: "Thank f*ck that's over. Memo to self - Only do shows in future where you can go home after the day's shooting. I'm getting to old for a month locked up in a house full of idiots..."

I have read, a lot of excuses for bad behaviour and some sort of hero worship that may or may not be a little unhealthy. He is a man like any other and not a very good actor. Eyes on the prize he wants to win. Rude and dirty and should IMO not have been allowed in there if he can't cope.

And that is imo far closer to the reality. I like that Gary just fine.

The saintly, self-sacrificing, all-embracing, enlightenment-spreading one never worked for me. He's an old ham, hardened by Hollywood and shrewd enough to see RTV as a nice little earner for his 'kooky' self. And he's certainly been good value this time round!

He has coped admirably imo. It's the other tosspots who haven't coped with him.

I make no excuses for him because none need to be made. It's like his wife said, "Gary's brain works differently and not everyone can understand that" it's not an excuse, it's just fact. The point of going on a reality show where people vote is to win. Otherwise why go in there? I don't understand.
Oh and no "hero worship" I don't worship human beings. But I do know a winner when I see one.

Exactly and most of those housemates have been far ruder and more malicious than Gary has. It's easy to see that imo.

Very true. Gary may be lacking in some social graces but to my knowledge he has never been malicious even in the face of the nastiness, spite and total disrespect he has had to endure for the last three weeks. Gary or Audley to win. I will be happy either way as long as they are the top two.

You clearly do think celebrities are different to us mortals you say so in your post. To me that is hero worship because they put their pants on one leg at a time like the rest of us and do all the things the rest of us do to live and we see that clearly every year in CBB and IMACGMOOH. Gary is no different to anyone else, older than some younger than others and damaged by life. He deserves nothing more or less than anyone else especially when he takes money to go on a game show like this. I never heard too many people making excuses when John McCririck was in the house and he was an old man too.

It is very difficult to have any sort of conversation this year with the amount of answers that are as child like as this is.

No your remarks. Are you a James fan doing a James projecting onto others.

I am not a fan of anyone since Leslie left, and then Frenchy. I think James is a great HM wouldn't mind if he won, but not a fan. If anyone should win I think George or Audley should. But again I am not fans of them either.

Celebrities ARE different to us, but only because society makes it that way. If they're going to create a CELEBRITY big brother, then celebrities will be in it. There are two separate big brothers because the majority of people put celebrities on pedestals. I don't.
You're wrong about Gary not being different. There is no one like him that I've ever met. Gary's brain lacks 3 main functions because of his accident, did you know that? That makes him different. Those brain functions have been replaced with Gary's unique take on the world, the way he sees things, says things and so on. This makes him different. He is different and if you can't see that then I'm sorry. If more people looked at the world the way he did, it would be a much better place.
Never compare Gary to John McCririck

No conversation possible if you really think celebrities are different to the rest of us.
