"..and I was stood over there earlier" ( CS )

It might be the half bottle of vino blanco I've consumed but I'm finding the Corrie script hilarious tonight.
There was that surreal little gem from Lloyd, and Julie saying " a bird in the hand" after Dev's string of cliches had me laughing out loud.

I have been known, recently, to lament the cringeworthy script of my beloved Corrie and how it's almost ( but not quite ) turning me away.

Maybe I have to be a bit squiffy to really apreciate it.
I can do squiffy on Mondays ( because Tuesday is my day off work ) but the rest of the week I can't risk it . I happen to be on a week's holiday at the moment so I've been three sheets to the wind most evenings.

Should I just give up on Coronation St if I can't appreciate the weird script without being sh*tfaced?

We've just had another ..
"..unless you're Fatima Whitbread and need the lower limb strength" ( Mary)

I'm definitely going to have to restock my wine rack.
I'm sorry , liver , but it's you or Coronation St.

There were a lot of good lines tonight, I enjoyed it for a change.

Funnily enough, my idea of good eps always, without exception, coincides with eps featuring either Deirdre or Mary. We got both tonight so I'm happy.

Diedre especially ( along with Gail ) has been a real turn -off for me lately. The script for those two characters seems to be particularly contrived to be "funny" ( ie. usually isn't ) but to hear Lloyd coming out with "..and I was standing over there earlier " as a retort to the sarcastic accusation of " you two are working hard as usual" was hilarious.

Lol, different strokes I guess. Tbh I have never ever so much as cracked a smile at anything the godawful Lloyd has ever said or done, whereas the likes of Deirdre, Sally, Mary, Gail, Norris (and even Tracyluv recently), regularly have me ROFL.
