Considering they where created in 1963 there may be quite a few people over 11 who like them.

The only one I've ever heard of is Wolverine and I know nothing about the character other than he is a he and something about a beard? I don't watch Big Brother as a rule, but I caught it once and remember one contestant saying to another that they thought he had a beard like Wolverine's.

Anyway, I can't vote with such little knowledge.

Wolverine is so overrated. If Fox promoted the other X Men half as much as him he wouldn't even make top 5. Rogue, Gambit, Magneto and Emma Frost are way more interesting characters in the comics.

What Disney/Marvel has done with their remaining properties is extraordinary and serves as proof that any comic book character can be popular if they're backed by a good creative team. We live in a world where a broke-down-Batman-wannabe like Iron Man is breaking more box office records than Spider-Man. Get it together, Fox.

I chose Rogue, having read the comics, I just like her story, and I like the way she's kind of flawed.

My vote is for Bishop as he saves himself and Newt from being sucked out of the airlock, despite having been ripped in half by the Alien queen.

Gambit.

Loved him since I watched the cartoon in the 90s.

It chops and changes with me, but mostly it's Gambit for the guys and Rogue or Phoenix (Rachel Summers version) for the girls. Then, there's Blink, the first incarnation, she was awesome.

However, I have a lot of favourites in the Marvel U who aren't X-Men.

Captain britian, Meggan, blink, Pete wisdom, psylock, sunspot, wolf bane, forge, maddrox, Polaris, havok, marrow, or dazzler.....

I voted for Gambit, though this is based on comic and cartoon versions, not the awful one from the Origins movie.

Kitty gets my vote, with Rogue, Jean and Beast not far behind.

On the flipside, Cyclops is probably my least favourite, followed by Angel and Xavier. And in general I'm going by the comics' portrayal of the characters; very few of the film portrayals are what I imagined of the characters, with the exception of Scott and Hugh Jackman's Logan. Halle Berry's Storm was dependable but a bit dull and somehow older than I imagined her - very much the maternal Storm of the tv series rather than the claustrophobic, streetwise ex-thief who was totally in touch with nature and as one with her powers.

Janssen's Jean was a nice interpretation but ultimately not as passionate as I imagined Jean - passionate beliefs, that is, and her Phoenix - a cold, robotlike persona was almost the opposite of the unhinged, psychotic and selfish destructive Phoenix I always imagined. Not to mention how weepy, whiny Rogue contrasted with her comics counterpart's confidence and badassness with her tattoos and leather jacket. I waited three movies for her to develop a power of ANY kind - she was X-Peter Petrelli basically - but no. No wonder Logan was the lead almost by default; everyone else's characters were weakened substantially to make way.
