Where is Lorraine Newman now? (serious question)

From what I've heard, she worked her way up through Eastenders from a young age years ago to become executive producer. Obviously she wasn't a great one so did she just leave Eastenders completely when she stepped down or has she gone back to a previous role in the show? There were rumours that she was always meant to be a stand-in EP while bosses found someone else to replace BK. Anyone know what she's doing now?

I heard she's move to Manchester and has been hanging round the cobbles waiting for her chance to strike

She sits at home watching Eastenders moaning that it's not as good as it used to be.

When she stepped down, some bigwig at the BBC said she would continue withing the corporation with drama.

ahh it must of been hard for her to step down to work there so long she must of really loved the job. to have stayed there and worked her way up the beeb must have seen she had other qualities.

at least she can say she tried and it wasn't all bad. she did do some good stuff

I hope she does still work for the soap. She didn't write well but she did have good ideas and plots that weren't written properly sadly. She was better than Brian.

She would probably be quite well suited to corrie with all that love and warmth

If she loves the BBC So much, she should come back as an actor and be Sharon's long lost Mother!
