On a minor note they were paid to go in the big brother house, not to look after an elderly man with hearing disabilities and mental health issues. I look after my nan who has Alzheimers and can't hear very well anyway but I choose to do it, I don't think anyone who entered the BB house expected to cope with Gary, no matter the money. Money isn't everything although you wouldn't think that in regards to how many times you mention it in your post.
As to Lauren and Audley, they barely spent half the time that James did with Gary, the one time I saw Audley actually speak to Gary on a one to one level was when James decided to leave the room. Heck Edele spent more individual time with Gary than those two did.
I have empathy, I have empathy for all the house mates, I don't just pick and choose who deserves it more without considering that persons reasons. No one is perfect and that includes both James and Gary.”
How do you now how much "individual time" they spent with Gary?
Anyway, they're not paid just to go into the house. They're paid to be housemates, which entails dealing with other HMs, including any who are difficult to live with -- just as housemates in ordinary BB have to do without getting fat fees. They're not supposed to encounter only things they
expected. BB is often a difficult, testing experience. And if they feel that what they face in BB is too onerous, they can leave.
I think I might find James more difficult to live with than Gary; and re having to cope with unexpected things, I don't think the HMs expected to have to cope with so obnoxious a WUM as James.
