Never in my entire life have I ever heard of a Border Terrier a border terrier like the most harmless dog biting anyone in my life and I've googled nothing but this story sure will give people the ignorance already who don't really like dogs that even dog like that can do it 😏

I wonder whether Amy asked the director what her motivation was in that scene. Because I couldn't see any. Maybe it's just that one of them's a nasty spiteful little creature which should be put down.

I think Amy did it to get at Curly.

Calm down! Nobody who watched the show gave it a second thought. We SAW what happened, remember?

The whole thing is unfortunately designed to give NewRehabilitatedMaddeh a sl. Anyone who seriously imagines for one single second that any ill whatsoever will befall Eccles is just looking for the next thing to be outraged about.

I hope you're right OnJ but I'm actually a bit anxious.

I don't, generally, like the way animals are deployed in soaps, very "easy come, easy go", it's boohoo for a few minutes then they are forgotten. Unlike, say, Tina.

Wellard, Schmeichel ...

well terriers are known for being yappy and nippy. my grans yorshire terrier was very yappy.

cannot see how the storyline can give the dog a bad name because it was quite clear the dog never bit her and she was making it up. you saw simon and her cause the injury on the door.

I am quitee enjoying this little storyline with simon, eccles and amy. the looks amy and simon have been giving each other are great and just what you would expect of squabbling kids.

said on another thread loved deidre calling out amy and saying she is just like her mother. lets hope the kid grows out of it cos how on earth will they do a teen storyline in a couple of years if she is so surly and spiteful it wouldnt be believable a boy would want to do that with her

to be fair schmeichel was around 8/9 years. the life span of a great dane is 6-8 years so I don't think it was easy come easy go at all

wellard was already an old dog and was around a fair few years also

edit: it was 2011 when schmeichel died not 12 as I thought and. so slightly younfger than i estimated at 7

interesting article re the corrie dogs - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...ester-15490688

Exactly. Wellard was around for about 16 years - I'm sure he came into the show about 1995 or 96 and wasn't a puppy and died circa 2010 so it would have been unrealistic for him to live much longer.

EE do have a habit of just forgetting their dogs exist or just have them run off with barely a mention.

Corrie are usually better - they don't have as many pets but do at least remember they exist and reference them a lot.

I think Amy's behaviour makes sense. She is jealous of all the attention Simon is getting and does view Eccles as 'her' dog (she lives in the same house after all, Deardre is actually her gran) and resents Simon muscling in and her being told by people like Maddie that simon needs extra attention presently.

It's not nice but it is understandable.

I really don't think anybody is going to take against border terriers due to this, it is very clear that she has done nothing wrong and Amy is being a naughty little girl.

I'd be more concerned about Amy biting Eccles than the other way round.

As I have said before Eccles is the one remaining pet we actually see on a regular basis, sometimes we catch a glimpse of the chocolate lab that Maria has, but there are no more pets, apart from Craig's rat. It's nice to see a dog on the street because it adds a touch of normality and realism.

I like this thread and it made me it just as though little Eccles is a proper actor having its own thread..... I wonder what its real name is?

Yes he/she is the only one we see often and its great that Eccles has his/her own SL at last

If Eccles is put down, I will burn Blackburns hat, if he has Amy put down I will buy him a new hat.
