Over the last few days both Emma and Rylan kept on mentioning Richard Smith, goodbye to him and how they will miss him, who is he exactly and what's the story about him? An executive producer who's leaving or even passed on? I say passed on as they both looked really emotional when mentioning him though they might e feeling like that if he is leaving too.

Couldn't tell you I'm afraid. That girl's CV goes back 6 series of BOTS in which he's named, so at least that long.

Well he's named as executive producer in the credits.

I find it rather annoying though that they kept mentioning him but didn't actually tell viewers who he was.

If a crew member actually dies they give them a tribute caption in the end credits. Has happened before.

Mr Smith must have moved on to pastures new/jumped off the sinking ship.

I don't think he died as Emma seemed to be 'speaking to him through the telly' like as if he would probably be watching. I hope he's okay, he sounds a nice man..She was all teary.
