I'm sorry but Bianca Butcher (or Jackson, whichever you prefer) has been an iconic character in EastEnders for 21 years. She left Walford with Terry to live in Milton Keynes, she didn't even get the 'duff duff' or even Julia's Theme. Also, the episode was just uneventful. Bianca should have left with a bang, with a 'duff duff' and even her own theme. Ricky Butcher and Robbie Jackson should have made 'surprise returns'. She should have gone abroad rather than Milton Keynes. It was underwhelming.

Why?

Why do exits need to involve "a bang"? She got a happy ending, one that suited her character well enough.

It was pretty low key but considering the amount of times Bianca has left and come back it was probably for the best. She'll no doubt be back in a couple of years anyway making a big dramatic exit seem uneccessary. It was a shame she never had a farewell scene with Dot though I know they haven't interacted much recently but Dot is her step-grandmother.

Agreed, particularly the bit in bold.

How many times has she left now???
Maybe they think give her 12 months and she will want to come back,

If she really wanted to leave for good they should have killed her off.

Not every character can go out guns blazing. I think it was quite fitting after all she has gone through that she decides to move somewhere new.

They cannot kill off every character when the actor decides to leave.

I liked it but it should have been the duff duff.

She didn't even get the 'duff duff'. Patsy wants a future in Hollywood, we're unlikely to see Bianca anytime soon. She's an icon and left disgracefully.

I liked Bianca's exit, leaving in the back of Terry's cab was a nice touch and i'm glad she and Terry made up.

A duff duff for Bianca would have been nice but it was fitting that Alfie got it because next week is a massive week for him and his family!

But she'll be back - why bother with an 'all guns blazing' exit?

I think she should have had a duff duff, but not her own theme.

If it was the last we were ever going to see of her (wishful thinking ) then maybe a theme, but I kinda liked how it ended for her.

Bianca in the 90's used to be a great multi-layered character who could be nasty and nice in equal measure. She felt real. Ever since she came back in 2008 she's been dumbed down into a complete thicko with a chip on her shoulder and a bigger mouth than ever before. Lumbering her with a bunch of kids limited her and getting rid of Ricky was idiotic. I think Patsy Palmer should have stuck to her guns and not returned like she said she would. This stint hasn't done any favours for Bianca. With that said the exit was fitting. It's not like she'll be gone forever and she has left in quick succession several times in the last few years. I don't think she should have returned at all. Bianca will forever be known as a thick chav from now on thanks to this awful stint.

It's possible that Patsy Palmer never returns. Even if she isn't successful in LA, she might stay over there because she prefers the lifestyle.

They missed a trick. Her ending should have been Terry surprising her by saying they had a house in Essex. Carol would ask where as they got into the taxi.

Bianca screeches "Billerikeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

Sorry, I know this is really lame. I can't help myself.

I think this is the case. I'm not of the school of thought that TPTB actually have it in for Palmer but I do think the number of times she has left for breaks over the last couple of years has made it very difficult for them to give her a huge exit. I mean she has effectively had 4 already, 99, the little Ricky/Bianca bubble and the two times she has gone to Prison. Also, how much notice did they actually have to plan it? I get the distinct oppression that she just told them she wouldn't be renewing her contract a few months ago rather than knowing over a year in advance as they often do.

I actually prefer to have low key exits sometimes and don't think it isa big deal that she didn't get the closing shot. Her leaving is another thing that has pushed Alfie to the edge and they are concentrating on that.

Billerica is actually my neighboring town and every time I see a signpost, drive past it, go through the station on the train I hear her ruddy voice screeching in my head!!!!

It was fine. I'm just glad she's finally gone. Sick of hearing her screeching all over the place for no good reason.

But no doubt, she'll be back in a year or two once whatever she's doing in the states goes tits up.

I'm inclined to agree with this. Other than the excellent episodes surrounding the reveal of tony's abuse of Whitney and the episode before she went to Prison the second time her return has fallen really flat. She was, as you say, a 3 dimensional character played by an actress first time round, she has now become a cartoon version of her former self and I truly believe that Palmer has lost interest in the role (who can blame her with chicken mcnuggets, how an I gonna feed my kids rinse and repeat) which has affected the performance.
