Anticipating the next song
I find that listening to the radio or a video channel on Dsat is better then hearing my fave CDs. That's not because my CDs are rubbish (cos they're not) but I think it's all about anticipating the next song.
With radio you don't know what's coming next and you may hear a song you wouldn't choose to hear but you then get to like. With CDs you usually know what's coming and might want to jump to that track. The whole experience is so predictable. CDs are better when listened to in 'shuffle' mode for the same reason. |

Music from modern composers such as Mike Oldfield, Jean-Michel Jarre, etc. rely on the continuity of the tracks. But then as my CD collection is split about 75% classical, 15% world, 5% new age, and 5% rock and pop I would have differing views. Most radio stations have a playlist so the upcoming song is only going to be one of about 200 max, and the same goes for the TV channels where you ring up. |

Sorry to bring back this topic from the dead, but this is SO TRUE!! There have been so many songs I've heard at the gym that I would have never otherwise listened to, and then ran home and bought.
Can anyone help, I keep hearing a song that goes something like 'If god were a joker' or something like that??? And who is it by? |
