Love how honest he is here.

"A show that goes on for so long, it's going to go through periods of not very good, not very interesting, pretty f**king s**t sometimes. But at the moment it's on an up and everyone's happy."

I'd say the Roxy baby stealing farce was a particular low point.

I sort of hate the 2 face-ness of actors at times.

EP1 is on the show

"OMG they're great, such a happy place to work. Loving all their ideas and energy."

EP1 is replaced by EP2

"We all love EP2, they've really come in here and changed direction, the show and everyone is really happy and excited, the crew love them. We all having a conversation today in the green room about how excited and happy we all are. We couldn't be happier with them, one to watch and the viewers are going to love it.Happy Happy work, Happy work, Happy work"

I know certain past producers have mucked our favourite characters and shows up *hint Kirkwood hint* but it can't be nice to read something like that from past colleagues.

Don't think nitin would have been half as honest thought if say it was Lorraine Newman in charge. Shane richies now he's one the worst when comes to arse licking however Jesse Wallace very different here her face says all we need to know here 😂 http://youtu.be/RyB7KfRl8q0

I think the EP should have a longer contract

Nitin is quite complimentary considering DTC has virtually ignored the Masoods.

Well you're unlikely to publicly badmouth your boss until after they have been left. It's career Suicide otherwise

It was DTC who put The Masoods on the map in 2009 with Syed sexuality/Chryed storyline. Before this, they were cooking curries and having money woes. Granted Santer was the EP but DTC was the brains behind the whole story and mapped it all out. We'd never have had Nina, Nitin, Mark, Johnny and Preya's performances without the story.

I know the Masoods have been quiet since he took over as EP but he did the right thing by axing (pointless) AJ as soon as he took over and recasting Shabnam. The character, although quiet for the most part, has been a good casting call.

Shabnams story will be kicking of in a few weeks and will run until next year it seems so the family is very much on his radar.

Anyway, great words from Nitin. It couldn't more true. IMO 2011-13, was the worst period the show has ever seen. 2014, is the first time I've seen the show turn a corner in years. It's by no means unmissable TV (yet) but it's getting there. The difference in quality between now and this time last year is very visable. DTC has done very well go give us decent characters and storylines the viewers can invest and engage with.

Whats also noticable is how enthusiastic the cast members appear now. I never got that impression when Kirkwood was in charge. I never saw this level of praise from writers or actors when he was at the helm. Some of the comments after Kirkwood left his post was very telling. Now, it does appear to be a much happier working environment and the cast members to seem much happier and complimentary towards thier new boss.

How wrong you are. He gave Nitin Ganatra a chance to show his versatility as an actor with the short self loathing storyline he had at the beginning of the year. He brought Shabnam back and bear in mind this interview is coming from an actor filming scenes we've yet to see. September is going to be massive for the Masoods.

I quoted this comment and then didn't look at the link. Oops. I will do that now.

EDIT: Do you know something? I love Lorraine, she's so happy and smiley. Where was the look? She didn't really look impressed during that interview or have I hit the nail on the head?

I know that.

He didn't really need to state anything about other eras of the show tbh. Can I just state though that I don't like when any actors from any soap have a subtle dig at the last person in-charge.

Agreed. They are prominent in the important months from October to February

My thoughts exactly. Masood had a storyline that lasted about 2 weeks at the beginning of the year and he's been a bit player ever since

Really? They were not in the two minute preview, I think more October than September.
