It's a true classic, isn't it?
At the time, I was only about ten and I remember watching it but a few years ago I felt like I'd dreamed it. The bomb aspect felt unbelievable to me. But watching it back, it's a lovely reminder of the past. Pat's scenes with Steve Owen was great. And so many characters I used to love; Peggy, Frank, Pat, Steve, Lisa... it's a shame so many of them are no longer in the show or with us. |

Love the Julia's theme at the end.
Thank you so much, been looking for this for ages. The titles & theme too! How I miss it!

Just watched the episode again, like others have said it was a classic episode, i have being wanting to watch that episode for years, so pleased to see it. So many classic characters at that time, sad to see so many of them have left the square or died in real life like Mike Reid, Wendy Richard and John Bardon. I think from what i could see in that episode there is only Phil, Billy, Ian and Sonia who are still in the show today. From my reckoning in the Walford world Jamie, Barry, Steve, Mark, Pauline, Pat and Frank died in the show who was in that episode.
I can't believe it is almost 15 years ago, i can remember it was on a Sunday night and i remember expecting the bomb to go off at the end when they all left the pub and being surprised when it didn't. |

A really brilliant episode and one that I've watched several times, especially over the last year.
It's not an episode that you often hear people citing as one of the best, but it really is such a hidden treasure. It had several plots running in and out of it, a great many of the best characters all locked together in one place and that good old-fashioned sense of community and fabulous atmosphere. It was understated and yet epic at the same time. I think our current day 2014 cast is the strongest it has been since those 2000/01 days. It's amazing to think that in the 15th anniversary episode alone the likes of Janine, Ricky and Roy were in the cast, but don't actually feature in the episode, and yet the cast for episode is still impossibly high. Really, very great. |

I'd totally forgotten about that. Ta for posting. Great to see Mel/Lisa/Dan/Steve/Pat/Frank/Pauline again.
