I was just on Facebook and went into walford East Facebook page. They said that there is a new family due in a few months.

I dunno whether it is speculation or is it true Just wondering did anyone hear anything about it.
Thanks

I want something like the Millers or Brannings, A wife, a dad, kids!

Darren and Demi were great together!

I think A new family is needed after the exit of the Butcher/Spraggans!

I'm inclined to believe it's speculation at the moment. There's enough going on in the show over the next few months, with a sizeable and strong cast.

If that's true I think it's more likely to be additions to existing families/characters rather than a brand new family.

I wouid prefer a brand new family to be honest but the cast is big so DTC needs to axe the remaining deadwood.

There isn't really that much deadwood to axe though. They could get rid of four characters quite easily. Tosh, Donna, Fatboy and Dexter. But there's no one else who would realistically get the axe.

The Coker's grandson really needs to be brought in so we can see more of their history. Then we have Kim's husband when she returns. Sylvia and Elaine cannot be that far away.

We will then have a large cast, too large for a complete new family to turn up.

Maybe some members of the Fox family, it's about time Denise had a few more family members on the Square.

Scrabbler- the four you mentioned are the four I would get rid of if I was DTC.

Paul Coker really needs to arrive now.

I would get rid of Whitney and Lee too. Six unnecessary characters. Then bring in the Hubbards, Kim's husband and his children. A daughter who can befriend Nancy, one son who can befriend Tamwar and a younger son to be friends with Cindy, Liam and Rebecca.

I'm all for Denise having family on the square as long as it's not Kim. They could recast Chelsea and bring her back married to an older man with grown up children.

Shouldn't they utilize the cast they currently have better?

I don't like Kim either, but I actually think with a bit of character development she good be a good character. As long as they don't focus on her stupidity and alcohol dependency too much.

Without new characters many of the existing ones are doomed to a life of celibacy or incest, or even worse...

I can't see any chance of development. In fact from what we've seen of her recently she's got worse.

I'm fully open to new families, but I'm more interested in how they are related to Shirley.

a totally unconnected family would be great.

would like to see a few more single characters brought in without existing family ties.

I dont think les and pam need grandson or a backstory at the moment are they are just bit part characters

Stand alone characters such as Donna and Fatboy who are isolated and never get stories? Even Sharon (Denny is the exception) is a stand alone character and it seems they struggle with what they can do with her.

They had to make Patrick a father figure to Denise and Kim. Ales gets by because of his relationship with Roxy.

Nick was distraught when Ashley died, in fact I am spure they made a big thing of the fact his only child was dead. But he also had Charlie, (was Dotty born after Ashely died?). It does smell a bit of retconning imo.

Walford East bullshit so much, they said the fire was on the 2nd September, and there's a huge lucy twist this November? How would THEY know?:/ we've heard nothing of a new family, if there was a new family in a few months, we'd of heard something by now surely? I hope there isn't a new family, dtc is good but he's brought in so many new characters now, and there's some who really can't act, when you bring in too many new characters at once, the show can start to become unrecognisable, I hope he doesn't bring any new characters in for a long time now, especially now he's brought in the Carter's who are IMO, way too big!

I think it's more of an imaginary question they are asking people on that Facebook as post goes and that's all it is. (A new family is due in Walford in the next few months, what would you like to see?) See they've almost posted an old story from few a years ago about Steve McFadden was almost thinking of quiting the show 😏
