The best storyline to cover an actress' maternity leave?
Got to be The Sally Spode saga for Charlotte Bellamy, right?
Any others you've enjoyed/haven't enjoyed? |

Alison Sweeney was recast as a man when she took her maternity leave from Days of Our Lives in 2005.
In the story Sami Brady disguised herself as a man for several weeks to take revenge on her enemies. |

Not a Soap but I quite liked them making Daphne Moon comfort eat to suppress her sexual desires until she got so big (pregnant) that she had to be sent off to fat camp.
Also Cheers just hid Shelly Long in increasingly bizarre ways, including having her trapped under the floor with just her head visible for one episode. |

What Corrie have done previously with just mentioning the character and not character assassinating them / sending them off anywhere. So I heard anyway, I can't recall who that was.
Patsy Palmer's was ok. Didn't Bianca go to prison for a reason related to defending her kids? Much better than what has been done with many other characters. |

This storyline coming up with Kylie off corrie sounds really good to prepare us for her exit. I think that was written for her maternity leave.

Carla (CS) finding out that Tony took a hit out on Liam and fleeing the country. Her exit episodes and return were both fabulous. Such a good era for the character.
