I'm just halfway through episode 3, and I'm hooked on it, loving it, I just realised though I don't think I've heard one swear word come from any of the Housemates. They all seem really nice, makes our HM's look like chavs, very refreshing, also how come they have a laundry room, we have a mangle, what a difference.

I don't think they have an episode on Saturday for some reason but not sure when they nominate.
Yeh, 6 days a week... due to Aussie rules football.

Swearing is a rule break, due to the early air time. Housemates have been punished for it in recent seasons.

I think it's just other countries prefer other BB's than their own.

I know in Italy, US and Australia, they love our version and hate their own and watch it online, however people here sometimes prefer the others.

Australian BB is the like the CBBC version of Big Brother UK. I am always surprised to find out that BBUK fans like Australian BB considering it's just as manipulated and has even less coverage (they're not even doing clips or live updates anymore...)

I like it mainly because the cast is a whole lot better, less chavvy a-holes and more regular normal people. I mean Tim and Tahan last year were in my opinion 2 of the best housemates of any BB I've seen.

It does seem a little too family friendly at times but I'd watch it any day over the constant fighting and puffing cigarettes like trains that we see on BB UK.

BBUK is poundland at this point, cheap housemates, cheap house, cheap everything.

Except both Tim and Tahan were not so called normal people,Tahan and Tim both had highish profiles,Tahan especially.

What I meant by normal was not totally common chavs like most of this years UK cast.

UK BB is definitely a pound shop effort ... it falls apart the minute you've bought into it.

Don't knock it until you've tried it.

Last year's BBAU is easily the best series of Big Brother I've ever seen, it was flawless.

This year's series has only just begun and I'm hooked and enjoying it also.

You might be surprised and it effortlessly lifts you out of the misery of BBUK immediately.

Big Brother himself rules the house with a rod of iron, the way it should be.

The house/mates and the production side of the show is much better than BBUK,however
they have let themselves down by treating BB as a soap with no twitter/clips/facebook/livefeed updates at all
I do like the way that BB remains firmly in control and rule breakers really are punished
but the show goes out pre-watershed most of the time and so the content is watered down.
It sounds dreadful.

There's plenty of room to be dreadful yet still far better than the rubbish that's passed off as BB in the UK these days.

Two YouTubes in and it looks dreadful to me too. Sonia Kruger is not a good start, she has the same dead-eyed plastic presence as an American news skirt. The contestants are all pretty vapid too. And audience laughter? Jeez.

Oh woe betide anyone likes anyone or there be even the slightest hint of fun or sound of laughter, no no no! Give us the poisoned chalice that is UK BB any day - not.

Australian producers thankfully know the meaning of fun and how integral it is to a series of BB. They actually give a shit about the show, it's audience and the housemates and are not engineering a mass bitch-fest the entire time.

The emphasis is on fun, as well as playing the game, without the need to start world war 3.

The show isn't about Sonia, although I think your comments are harsh as she's a very pleasant host who's very caring toward and mothers the housemates, nothing wrong with that seeing as they are going through a life-changing and very unique experience.

Yeah right, if they cared about the show they would at least bother to put up live feed clips online. Even BBUK has more coverage.

The emphasis being on "fun" is just another way of saying it's edited to the extreme. It's focused on "fun" because it's been designed to be family-friendly. Nothing to do with caring about the show.

Not my point at all. I don't like 'canned' laughter in anything. I'll decide for myself what's funny and when to laugh thanks. It certainly doesn't belong in Big Brother. And I just don't perceive the same depth or complexity of character in the US or AUS contestants as in some of the UK ones. Obviously I agree that this last civilian BB was way too miserable and nasty though, I mean who wouldn't, they've evidently decided it's all about the conflict and edited out pretty much all of the fun anyone has in there. But this BB AUS looks soulless and primetime to me.

The BB voice into the house is shit too.

I agree the canned laughter is not my cup of tea either but at least they are trying to make the housemates happy .

That's what bb UK should try wouldn't it be great to watch an episode of bb UK and say that was funny instead of that was bitchy.
Unfortunately unless the production team change their view , during the auditions ,they will look for people who will NOT get on.

I used to love BBAU, the one with Reggie and the two houses was amazing. Friday night live was great as well, for some odd reason I really liked all the product placement and competitions, Mike Goldman, how Big Brother was basically just one man/one voice - very strong voice as well, BB Uncut, the panel show, Dreamworld, opening titles, Gretel, etc

Then with the reboot I tried my hardest but I just couldn't get into it. I guess it's because it's a family friendly show now, seems a bit too scripted as well. Might give it another go if I'm bored.

The only thing missing from the show is a 24 hour Live feed, it is like watching an early version of our BB with real people for HMs, and no wannabe Z-listers, the house is a lot better as is the production.

I personally don't care if they don't do twitter or facebook as I don't ether, and as the show is pre watershed there is no effing and jeffing, which in a way is refreshing after our last BB, the show is already off to a good start and is worth watching, so if you are a fan of BB give it a look and make your own mind up .....
Yep no z listers because in Oz there is not much fame afterwards so it is still about the experience like the old days

skimmed through an episode, I can't speak for the content but production wise, BBUK is of a much higher standard, in terms of the lighting setup and cameras at least. A lot of the shots were really over exposed in areas and the diary room looked a bit cheap too.

I'm not saying whether or not that makes the show better or worse... but I do think some people here tend to put down bbuk a bit too much.

Channel 5 need to be more innovative and creative in their ideas like Channel 4 were in the early days. Instead, they continue to wheel out the same old predictable shit every series, every year, which has exhausted the format entirely.

BBAU producers are extremely good at shaking the game up a bit to keep viewers' interest without theoretically castrating the show via endless twists as in BBUK.

It deserves all the flack thrown at it. BB15 was the lowest point ever in the show's history and if Channel 5 don't fix it (presuming they will continue to air the show) by Summer 2015, I would say the show is as good as toast.

Watched the first 11 episodes of the 2013 series and I don't get it really. Fair enough to those who do but it feels like it wouldn't be out of place as a Saturday morning kids show.

I think the best difference is the generally more happy vibe, people laugh and say how can a happy house be entertaining but it can

Look the the producers of the UK series did, they used people like Helen to create drama and fights week after week, it was exhausting to watch and wasn't good for the show at all
