Have humax HDR 1000 box 2 years old in December works great apart from this little glitch of starting up then going off and starting up again.Bought from Curries Northampton who would send it away to be tested then no Tv
Has anyone any suggestions for a cure have reset to factory defaults with no difference
Even if it dies tomorrow I have made a profit compared to Sky costs so if there's no fix I will live with it til it breaks then buy a new one

Do you mean it's turning itself on and off again?
If so then I don't suppose you have synced the Freesat App to it have you as while in stanby the box boots up every 20 mins.
If not then perhaps you'd like to go into a bit more detail as to what the problem is.

Hi GONZO,
havent got the app although i should do.All that happens is when you switch it on,the Humax logo comes up on the screen for a couple of seconds then goes off, comes up again and then its fine. There are no other issues that I am aware off and all recordings are made.It is on a 3 hour shutoff if no key is pressed and apart from being a minor inconvenience doesnt seem to affect anything.
Was on phone at work for original posting ,sorry should have waited and done it properly

It's probably a TV HDMI handshake issue. What output resolution are you using ?. If 1080p can you try 1080i to see if it makes any difference.

Mmmm not seen this reported before now.
On startup the Freesat and Humax Logos appear then disappear and then the <free time> logo appears.
Are you sure your not seeing this?
Have a look at this vid, are you seeing the same start up or different?

Using 720p will reduce your picture quality. You could try a new hdmi cable and/or a different hdmi port on the TV.

It is noticeably worse I will try both suggestions and play with it tonight
Can live with it if it is not some warning of failure in box

My box is connected via an AV amplifier, on boot the picture disappears twice, once while the box and amplifier negotiate handshake and the second time as the amplifier and TV do the same.

Had a little play and I am not seeing the all theHumax logo come up,I think there is a delay and I am seeing the Freetime bit and thinking its turned off and on.Moved HDMI ports and reset to 1080i picture is much better and will get a new lead.
Your help is much appreciated
