I thought the episode was awful and so was the stunt. The only interesting thing will be how Kat reacts to this all. I wonder how long until people find out Alfie did it.

I have to disagree.

All the hype for nothing. Happened way too quickly.

So what you're saying is the only interesting thing is the actual storyline, well that's good then. The fire wasn't the thing being hyped, it was never about the stunt, the hype was about Kat and what happens next, her coping with her injuries and eventually realising that Alfie was the one who did it to her.

The storyline was is about Aftermath and how it affects Kat & Alfie's story. Not the actual stunt it's self.

Not seen it yet.

Were talking about the episode not the storyline.

I thought that was a great episode. Alfies guilt is going to eat him alive.

It is not supposed to be about the fire, yes, I can't wait to see how Kat reacts to it.

Were only talking about the episode and I'm interested in the storyline but the episode was awful.

EE never does stunts well, best left to Hollyoaks.

Don't think the script was that good. The dialog during the card game was a bit CBBC.

Interested to see just how disfigured Kat will be and how it changes her personality.

Is this the beginning of the end for Kat and Alfie?

I found the whole episode really emotional, which surprised me. I hate Alfie generally but found his scenes very touching, and I felt awful for him when he realised what he'd done to Kat.

I'm glad they had Johnny go in and try to save someone, although of course it's irresponsible behaviour. I think it exorcised the demon of Sharon for him.

I thought it was a great ep. i thought gettng to the fire scenes was dragging it out but then when johnny and peter ran in, tamwar walking away and everyone being concerned it all made sense.

There is a behind the scenes vid on eastenders facebook page if anyone is interested its pretty cool. shows alfie being blown away.

I agree as others have said. Eastenders is not hollyoaks where its all stunt and no depth. the whole build up has been about how it will affect kat and alfie not about the fire.

dot living with carol should be interesting

Then the episode did its job and you're focussing on the right part of the story.

If you want a student film showing off visual effects with very little plot, watch Hollyoaks.

Emmerdale are best at stunts and tbh I am not even a fan (anymore)

As I said twice now I'm focusing on the episode as this thread is about the episode.
Another thing I found weird was the camera angles they seemed really off.
If you saw the last hollyoaks stunt than you might not be saying that. BK stunts haven't been great since the blast. The recent car crash was awful.

I didn't think much of it either. It was lacking in any real tension, or atmosphere. The protracted moment where half of the Square were standing and gawping at the fire was especially awkward.
