Anyone have any idea when the new series is starting? I know it's meant to be the Autumn but thought we would have at least heard something by now.

There are already numerous threads concerning it. No official announcement has been made, and when it has I guarantee that it will hit these forums directly. The first announcement normally comes from Lord Sugar's Twitter account.

Yes I agree with this, The Apprentice always airs Wednesday at 9pm.
Our Zoo has three more episodes so I am assuming it will start on 15 October.

I am thinking we will get the final Waterloo Road series at 8pm that night followed by The Apprentice as Our Zoo and Bake Off both wrap up on 8th October

BBC Media Centre says that Our Zoo only has five episodes, and the last one is on the 1st of October:

A couple of TV guides I've seen have Our Zoo as 6 episodes. Bake off is at its quarter finals this week. So 15th October seems more likely.

For what it's worth, I tweeted Dara earlier today, to ask when The Apprentice and You're Fired would be returning, and he replied almost immediately 'Start in Mid-November!'... I guess Dara would have a better idea than most, as he'd be hosting the You're Fired shows... !

It would explain why there's nothing on the BBC site promoting it soon...


It's odd how the same thing is happening with the Celebrity Apprentice in the US, that was filmed earlier in the year, and still no air date in the US for that either...

That's odd... there won't be enough weeks for it to be finished by Christmas, even if there are a couple of double-bills. Seems that oddly it will be finishing in early 2015, unless of course they decide to go for a two-week Monday-Saturday thing, which I really can't imagine they'd do because it has never been done before and I doubt would work as well as a weekly schedule.

If that's true however, that is seriously odd. We have two very odd scenarios...

Either they could do a double bil every week until christmas...

OR they could let it run across New Year and into 2015. Maybe they're bridging it into 2015, cos they don't plan to air another series until Spring 2016, and are trying to bridge the gap, like they have with DW in recent years.

I will be disappointed though if it's not starting until Mid-November!

Of course it could've been a wind up, but they could start on say Wednesday 12th November, and with either a double episode each Wednesday (or 2 shows a week on separate days), get to shows 11 and 12 on 17th December, to finish just before the Christmas schedule takes over...?

I really can't see them doing a double episode every week... Why would they only have 6 weeks of hype when they know they can get 12?....

I actually think he was winding up.... As early as the start of September, LS has said that it is back 'soon' and 'in a few weeks' - hardly means 2 months does it?

I can think of a reason why they'd do it actually, but it's not a very pleasant reason, so I really hope this isn't the case...

The BBC may be planning to cancel the series after this one, and not bothering to work to get good ratings so that they can justify it. I don't think that's a very good plan - after all, if a series isn't working, it would make sense to give the last series a final push just to make sure - but it is one that the BBC has done before. I heard that they did it with Robin Hood a few years ago, although I wasn't watching it. I also felt that they did it with the third series of Young Apprentice, as it was suddenly in an 8pm slot instead of a 9pm one, and there hardly seemed to be any publicity for it apart from the bare minimum they could get away with. I hope this isn't what the BBC are doing, but I think it's a distinct possibility.

I highly doubt it - as I've said the ratings are still very high, and is one of the BBC's highest-rated shows.

- Start with a double header on consecutive nights (Tu/W or W/Th) and then weekly every Wednesday
- Finish Dec 17th (won't be Christmas Eve)

Would put the start date on Tu 7th or W 8th Oct.

These are just assumptions, though!

I'm going to be writing weekly reviews for both Metro and for my own site so should get access to official BBC previews. I've had no notifications yet from the Beeb PR people, for what that's worth. And we'll definitely get the PR winding up at least a week before launch, revealing the names and profiles of the contestants, teaser trailers etc.

But we've heard from Dara that it won't start until mid-November...
