It's in the first city you visit or thereabouts. The one where you meet Gladioli's sister. There are a few cd's worth (2 anyway).

Yeah, think so. Or one of the stops around the chapter 3 missions, can't remember exactly, saw it today but couldn't afford it.
Speaking of which are there any items that are 'vendor trash' that serve no use except to be sold? What are debased coins etc for?

Dunno yet what items are trash and what's not.

I'm a hoarder so I keep everything ..... just in case.

I know you need to keep the Oracle Assertion Coins but not sure about the other ones. Some can be used when making magic too.

I've been selling claws. I seem to pick up loads of them and they're worth 90 Gil each.

They have just announced a few interesting patches for ffxv. New game plus and improvements to chapter 13 shortly and eventually they will add more story to certain parts of the game and add more playable characters.

I haven't bought this yet but I have a question. I'm very much one to do as many quests as possible when the game allows it, before heading further into the story. Now my worry is that doing so will leave me massively overpowered making the majority of the game too easy - is that likely here? I enjoy a fair challenge (not ridiculously hard) so don't want it to be a walk in the park and make battles boring! I know this could happen with previous FF games but only if you really chose to level up. By all accounts there is so much side stuff in this one that it seems inevitable for your party to walkover everything early in the story if you want to do sidequests?

Any insight on this would be great

I've put about 30 hours into this game so far and am on Chapter six or seven. It's very expansive (as always with FF), but i'm not too keen on the button smashing as if were a generic third-person game, because in that regard, it's lost its battle intimacy. Also, the Magic Spell creation system is rubbish. I'm barely using magic at all in-game, where as its usually essential in my FF playthroughs. The main story is okay. At least, much more straight-forward and interesting than FFXIIIs.

Overall, really enjoying the game so far.

That's my fear. I'm lvl 30 and only on chapter 3. Perhaps I'll advance more of the main story and then go back to all the side quests around chapter 6 or 7.

Listed as £49.99 on the PS store, ive got a feeling it'll only drop down to the late 30s' and even still thats over priced. Its a new game so best bet is to buy it on disc. My special edition only cost me £37 as a pre-order and doubt Sonys deal would beat it/ beat it much.

Anyone know if the first DLC is coming next tuesday as the store has already been updated today.

Exactly. It's a thing that blights many RPGs but at least usually the quests are later on/more spaced out. I love exploration and thank god its not linear like 13 was, however by giving you that amount to do so early on you are forced to make a choice - do the story mainly in order to keep it reasonably challenging, or do lots of quests but make the game a piece of cake and probably very dull. I suppose it depends how hard the quests are?

It's why Dark Souls has been my prime series of choice in recent years as no matter what difficult subplots etc you choose to do, it's still very unlikely to make the main game easy.

Fair comment, dark souls is a great series, I agree with you on that.😆

I'll weigh up how challenging I find the next chapter or two, before how I progress with the side quests.

It's a shame there isn't a hard difficulty setting on first play through, to make the game more challenging. Perhaps increasing the difficulty lvl caps on some of the enemy ai's. I rarely start over again on a new game+.

I went down the over leveling path, I got to level 45 by the end of chapter 3, then advanced with the story, then stopped again in chapter 7 and got to level ~63. Tbh I'm glad I did as despite the side quests being repetitve as hell, and a huge let down when compared to some of the recent open world rpgs (mainly TW3), I've had the most fun when roaming around doing whatever I feel like.

I'm up to chapter 12 now and the main story is a complete let down, and I've heard chapter 13 is meant to be mind numbinly boring. I managed to do 2 chapters last night in less than an hour, and on Sunday a certain boss fight consisted of holding down r1/lock on and spamming triange/warp strike non-stop for 5 minutes. I don't know if it was meant to be like that but it appeared I had unlimited HP and MP for the full fight. No skill involved whatsoever.
