Not sure how I feel about Tetsuya Nomura being replaced by Tabata. On the upside i guess this works out well for both FFXV & KH3 but at the cost of Nomura's FFXV.

New gameplay
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md7GhVH3vUg
— The in-game demo at Tokyo Game Show is in Luminous, and the E3 trailer from last year was in a previous “Ebony” engine. The final game will be in Luminous.
— You can’t hold the guard/evade button to avoid attacks continously, as it will consume MP. There are also actions related to guarding you will need to execute with certain timing.
— The battle system is named “Active Cross Battle” (AXB).
— You will not be able to switch characters. The decision regarding this was made last year around E3.
— There’s a dedicated jump button, footage thusfar has highlighted the free-running that’s also possible.
— Warping about couldn’t be done in combat in the Ebony engine; looks like Luminous has changed that!
— You can change weapons in and out of a customizable deck. Weapons have different actions tied to them you can use.
— Tabata likens the battle system to Final Fantasy Type-0 more than Kingdom Hearts, but feels it’s a unique system.
— Will the game be too easy? Tabata says not necessarily — there is challenging content like dungeons that they want to make hard.
— The team will be scrutinizing the feedback they receive from Episode Duscae demo for the final version.
— Combat footage is shown, featuring warping during battle and other effects.
— Tabata says not everything from Versus XIII will be in Final Fantasy XV, but he wants to use the best ideas from it. He doesn’t want to brush off criticism and will be listening; Tabata’s team briefs him daily on comments from fans.
— Tabata thinks the recent exploitable meme (Noctis & company in the car) that’s been circulating around the internet lately is funny; the producer doesn’t like it though!
— They’re going to do another broadcast similar to this one in November. Please look forward to it!

Hmm I liked the look of it in the first vid, but the gameplay in the second one, not so much.

Does anyone know if Nobuo Uematsu will be doing the music it for FFXV? It was amazing to have him doing the music for FFXIV again

I think with the latest one was to show that combat could be more fast paced too, which was what some fans were worried about. Also worth noting that the area shown in the video is very early in the game, meaning the moves are still basic ones.

I don't know if I'll buy FF15 if I am ever to buy a PS4/XBO, 13 left a bad taste in my mouth.
Never know though.

The reboot of FF14 was great though. I know its an MMORPG but still.. its a really amazing game and feels far more centered in the FF universe than 13 ever did.

It gives me a bit of hope for FF15!

New number = new hope.

I also loved 14. I pumped so many many hours into it. It was awesome.

I'm beginning to get really jittery about this one now.

I want it to be great, but I'm far from convinced. Going to need to spend time with the demo I think before I can reassure myself.

It's been such a long time since I've played a FF game that I consider 'great'. Beyond FFX HD that is.....!

Some new open world gameplay.

Linky Link

This has to be the most visually stunning game we've ever seen.

Will be interesting to see how it stacks up against the next-gen version of GTAV in the visuals stakes - looks incredible. Just hope it's not at the expense of story and gameplay.

Fingers crossed!

Square Enix have usually been ahead of everyone else on the visuals.

Fingers crossed for the story and gameplay is right. And for the English voice actors.

This game , we need a release date though, It's all well and good giving us a Demo with Type-0 but that means nothing in terms of actual release, just look at Wolfenstein: The New Order it came with a Doom Beta that runs out near the end of 2015, so does that mean the game proper is out in 2016/17/18?

I think I read somewhere they're aiming for a Dec 15 release ... Though that could be in Japan so we might get it Spring 16. Don't ask where I read that because I don't know (might also be BS)

But with Type 0, the ff7 and ff10 Remasters coming out in Spring 15, I'm not so hopeful on seeing a fourth Final Fantasy next year.

Looks amazing but I hated Zero first time out so won't buy it just for a demo.

I know it's a work in progress, but that voice work needs some improvement. The gameplay sequences looked very refined, which was pleasing.

Cheers Yuffie, I've watched it a few times now. Does it say "Nibelheim" at the beginning? Certainly sounds like it. I'm not too sure how I feel about a female Cid purely because of tradition. She looks cool though and I love that she's a mechanic.

Battle system looks interesting but I wish they went back to turn based combat.

Nevermind though, the world certainly looks more interesting than the world in 13 which is a major plus. I'm going to curb my excitement for this though, don't want to have my hopes built up and then burnt again.

Good catch KillerCloud that really does sound like Nibelheim. Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhh

I usually try and stay off the hype train when it comes to games and movies but for this I just can't. This looks amazing. I can't wait to get lost in the world and I probably said it a few comments up but this HAS to be the best looking game ever. And we're not even looking at the game, it's a video a the game. Colour me hyped up to the testicles.

Some new snippets coming out.

Here is a 40 minute Demo gameplay video. It shows the guys adventuring and stuff, there's no spoilers in it.

But I found this video, Final Fantasy XV: A Retrospective. This video takes a look at Final FantasyXVs development since 2006, covering everything that has been changed and what went wrong. It's an excellent video.

Only 10 days until Type-0 comes out with the XV demo ( although it wI'll be the 23rd/24th before I get my hands on it as I pre ordered from Amazon UK and it will take a few extra days to get to Ireland).

I can't wait.
