7.4GB day one patch, Get those consoles switched on before work lads and let the install commence. I'll be instructing my other half to get it ready for me.

Comes out on a Tuesday ya ? The 29th.

Hold on. Wasn't this the game that was delayed two months so that there wasn't a huge day 1 patch ?

I always found the reason for the delay silly. Just say you need more time, all that waffle about a day one patch was unnecessary. Because as you point out, we are still getting one. I think maybe they said that to offer more of an explanation and soften the blow, but a 2 month delay on a game we've been waiting 10 years for is nothing.

I've seen previews from people that have played the first 5 chapters and it's been pretty positive.

On the other hand there is the Clueless gamer video with Conan O'Brien and Elijah Wood. It's pretty funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXJFbsQBvLw&t=29s It just shows how bonkers JRPG's look to people that don't play them.

Apparently the patch is to add extra features that they thought of with the extra time. Detailed on Monday.

I watched the Conan video a few nights ago and thought it was excellent. So much so that I watched most of his other Clueless Gamer videos.

The wedding dress bit got me, and the awkwardness of facing the devs afterwards. Some fans have got a bit upset, I think they have taken it seriously. Although considering the long development it's probably the last thing they want to see.

The Tomb Raider one is good, he was shocked by the death animations lol.

Likewise I watched it at the premiere event up Broadway plaza in Birmingham Tuesday evening. Was almost a sell out event, I didn't realise just how informative kingsglaive is. I'd highly recommend fans of the series/casuals buying XV to watch, it greatly improved my understanding of the story and the events leading up to the game.

I even got some moogle munch popcorn and ffxv goodies for going. 😆😆

True, plus the end of the movie (after the credits) is basically the start of the game.

Will be trading in some old 360 games on Tuesday to partially fund this, game said they'd give me 25-28 for them, won't be able to play until I get back to Poland on the Sunday or Monday after though.

I've just seen ffxv posters on several bus stops. This is big advertising.

When you consider that the Kingsgate film, the anime series and the tie in games are all advertising ... I don't think I've seen any game advertised this much.

Although after loosing resources into this game for ten years, Square will want this to be a success. They're hoping to sell about ten million copies. Tabata said that's the target.

They've also clearly spent a LOT of money on this, especially when you factor in Kingsglaive. They will want this to succeed so bad. I hope it does, I really do. The FF series is probably my all time favorite series so i'm hoping XV lives up to the FF7-10 more than the 12-13.

A lot of people are hyped up for this too, I just hope they have realistic expectations or they are just setting themselves up for disappointment,

I don't know how true this is (but I have been told by quite a few people this guy is the real deal) but someone on NeoGAF who is friends with a few of the people reviewing FFXV on a few different websites has said that their thoughts on the game are overwhelmingly positive and to expect 9's when the reviews hit on Monday. Take it with a pinch of salt but thought I would share. Here's the links to his posts.

Given your apparent contact with reviewers, you seem really confident on this game reviewing very well. I hope you're right
Also, if anyone wants to see how big the map is, here is a picture from the official strategy guide...

This is the epic game that the franchise has been building up to. FFXIII was such a disappointment, I gave it up early. This looks fantastic!

Dualshockers released this pic a while back, which is apparently the XV map in relation to the Grand Theft Auto V and The Witcher 3 map.

Wow, if they're right the size of the map is absolutely staggering!

Excellent trailer. It's a very nice summary of what's going on and who everyone is.

The world looks huge too. I think I may play with wait mode on, or at least try it.

Polygon's pre-review (that's a thing now?) had some interesting things to say....

After all this time, it feels impossible that I’m about to write these words, but here it goes: Final Fantasy 15 is good. In its first 15 hours, at least, it’s very good.

and

Any complaints I have feel really petty right now in light of what Square Enix seems to have accomplished with Final Fantasy 15.

That is: It’s made Final Fantasy relevant again. They’ve actually done it.

A heads up for people who have ordered physical copies of the game - There are now 2 day one patches to download before you are able to play the game (totaling 15gb). If you have ordered the game from PSN, you can download both of these patches right now with your pre-load. The version of the game at launch will be v1.02. The newest patch (which has just been released) adds new cut scenes and deeper gameplay mechanics according to the patch notes.

I just got an email from my retailer, They dont have any stock to sell me my game, and are waiting on a back order from SE. Its rather annoying as they had plenty of time to work out how many pre-orders they have compared to stock ordered.
