If anyone hates holding down the button to lock onto an enemy, I've just heard that if you press R3 while locked on to an enemy you will still target that enemy if you leave go.

I have deduced that magic is stupidly powerful. Made a certain boss much easier.

Techniques are a bit overpowered too. I tend to spam them. |

I'm liking this quite a lot more. Just about to get the ferry. Level 8. I still think it's a bit sparse and I don't quite get the magic system. I like the road trip photo aspect a lot, great gfx. I can see levelling fishing being a bit of a grind!

The combat just got even more ridiculous in chapter 2. I keep getting ambushed by level 16 snipers from an airship (I'm level 11 at the moment). Atleast half a dozen of them are dropping down at a time, probably closer to 10, and the 3 idiots with me are all dead before I kill the first one. Yet somehow spamming square and circle I'm able to take them all out without my backup. Then within 30 seconds there's another batch of them, and within seconds my whole team is dead and once again I'm left to fend for myself.
Just had the airship pop up whilst doing a level 6 fetch quest for the journalist (Deino I think). I had to kill/distract a level 21 rhino that was guarding the ore I needed, all whilst the airship was constantly dropping those snipers. |

The start of chapter four is epic! I suggest anyone having doubts play through the story missions until the first bit of chapter four. Proper old school FF feeling
Combat is making much more sense now. It's less about mashing the buttons and all about when you press them. My map is riddled in icons of things to collect / do. My quest log is getting out of control. |

I didn't, but do now. Up until this point I mainly use glads tech as he does the most damage, guess having a healing option will be handy.

I found a spare hour or so after work. Its certainly very different from what I've come to know over the last 18 years. It does have that XII and XIII feel to it. I didnt think much of the FF for fans and first timers though screen upon loading the game up. That message would have been fitting for XIII.

For some odd reason it's making me think of, and pine for, MGS V. Maybe it's the scenery but I think MGS V looks better and more varied. Not got the ferry yet though so it might improve. I also don't notice much difference between high and performance settings for gfx. Is this meant for 4k?

I'm around 2hours 20 into the game and only at
Spoiler
I've done 2 or 3 hunts and I've seen a friend on my list at a part called "the last journey", am I really in the minority of taking my time and doing the side quests with a 10 yr developed game? I just think it's silly rushing through the main story when there's so much lore and exploration. |

I'm about 3 hours in but still on chapter 1 (done lots of side quests). I've just fed the cat some cooked fish and have a lovely warm feeling inside. I simply love this game and think despite goods reviews, it deserves a 9 out of 10 at least.
Many comments I've read complain about gameplay aspects such as the sea being relatively flat and not being able to swim in it. I think these folks have played too much GTA V and not enough Final Fantasy. |
