George Smith bids farewell after 3 years.

A massive loss.

LOL

Bye, George!!

Thankfully Ste will be left alone, now.

Attention seeking, we both know he isn't long running and the shock was not a shock.

The biggest shock is that Esther Bloom and Sinead O'Connor are now the only member left from the bus crash teens!

Has it been confirmed George left? I think he was a good actor and REALLY good in bullying- faking-his-own-death storyline.
I'm glad they gave him happy ending.

Well, he did have to run to catch the bus. Anyone know how far that was?

Only HO could count a three year stint as a long running role

Agree.

The character wasn't everyone's cup of tea but I thought he was ok really. They'd run out of steam as to what to do with him and it saddened me that he'd become the go to gay bit on the side.

Yes thinking back to his homelessness, sex trafficking and being reunited with his biological family I'm happy for the George/Andrew that used to be that he got a happy exit.

to be honest, 3 years in Hollyoaks would be classed as long running! Any other soap it wouldn't though

I'm just happy that he got an exit. At last.

Him and Tilly - the only ones of their group to survive (I don't count Sinead, Bart and Ruby as they were from PM's era). Both ran off to another city to be with an awful side character.

There is just nooooo way Esther and Phoebe are sticking around!

Predicted he was leaving. You could see it happening as he had not been on screen for months and then suddenly is on screen a lot. This tends to happen to certain characters when they are leaving. The writers didn't really know what to do with him for a while though. Ever since the Kanes and Tilly left he was just a background character not doing much. And with no family in the village it was the right decision to get rid.

Whilst I kind of agree ^ he is actually a spare part BECAUSE of the writers. As far as I know Lucy Dixon (Tilly) was the only one of the sixth formers (again excluding Ruby) who left of their own accord. What did the writers think they were going to be able to do with him after killing off all of his friends and family? They should've shown him having some kind of extensive break down.

He barely reacted to Callums death.

That's because the show is terribly written.

Long running? I was expecting Tony.. If anyone is long running it's him

3 years is veteran by HO standards. 22 of the 48 cast have been there less than 3 years and of those who have been there longer 8 of those have had a lengthy break from the show.

Yeah, nobody reacts to anyone's death on the show.

Yeah, I got that too - I think the clues are in the words & both terms stating George to be "long-running" & it being a "shock exit" - both statements are pretty ironic and sarcastic, yes. Agreed.

At least he left with the shows most popular character ever.

I didn't mind George. I will miss his brilliant sense of fashion though. Oh well, I'll just have to look at Sienna's lovely dresses. I hope her mad perversions won't distract her from dressing nicely.
