The guilt that they constantly piled on him was very unrealistic. I know there's no drama in being happy, and this big storyline he's getting at the end of the year will probbaly be depressing aswell, but it'd just be nice that if someone got hurt in the village, it doesn't end off being Aaron's fault!

No wonder most folk think he's a one-trick pony if thats all SB wanted him to do!”

Oh please Aaron destroyed Jackson and Hazel, they were fine before the crash just the whole storyline was done so we would feel sorry for Aaron but it backfired because everyone became bored of him.

Even Danny has admitted in interviews he doesn't want happy storylines.

Stop speaking for the audience. Not "everyone" became bored of him. YOU did.

A few others probably did yes, but that still doesn't equate to everyone. Stop stating your opinion as fact.

Already bored with this thread.
Some people like him others don't. Same forum members who are never going to change their opinions of the character no matter what.

Count me in. But I fully acknowledge that isn't universal.

Guess we're stuck with the bugger now though anyway. He's back. He's never gonna be my favourite character, but god, I just hope he's not a) all over the show and b) has something vaguely decent to do.

I was just thinking about this today, im a fan of the character and actor and i initially did think after his first few eps back he had shown signs of being more mature and slightly warmer, however that does seem to have gone again over the last couple of weeks.

I think that in his first stint he often did show several different layers, he could be very vulnerable, he could be warm, he could be thoughtful, he could be caring ect underneath the mainly hard and rude top layer to his character. I thought those things had become more prominent in this new stint but now i actually feel like the character is coming over slightly worse just recently than he often did before, which i don't really understand. I agree with the poster who said that the whole one night stand thing with Finn is really quite out of character in the first place and i felt that his reaction to it and how he dealt with Finn as well was also out of character, i think he would have been far more awkward about it and slightly more gentle with FInn about it than he was. Also, in his previous stint Aaron was actually his at his most warm and friendly with the older characters in the show, so his attitude towards edna also seems a step back even from his first stint.

I dunno, as a fan even im a bit unsure about the situation with him at the moment and im hoping we soon get a story where his different layers start showing again, or the writing for his character is fine tuned in its tone a bit again.

Yes but remember we have Ross and as long as Ross is on the show I can stand Aaron

I agree, the outcome they went with was like watching a slow death. Just not fun to watch. If I was in charge, I wouldn't have killed Jackson at all, at least not at that point. They should have let Aaron experience some actual happiness for more than five minutes at a time, whether that be with Jackson, or whoever. The character had already experienced so much angst at that point that he needed some normality for a while. The triple whammy of Jackson's accident/paralysis/death was too much to throw at Aaron in quick succession, it was like torture porn. Poor Danny Miller. They really milked his tear ducts dry.

Yes, and it comes over as very natural.

I wish they didn't make Finn practically drool at Aaron's feet the second he walked into the pub and have Aaron give him the harsh knock-back. Finn deserves better than that.

To be fair Finn probably wouldn't have even got what was happening if Aaron wasn't harsh... He's a bit dim considering he's meant to be the "Brainy Barton".....
