Neighbours, no one died

Dont get me wrong the Hurraince has been excellent to watch, and its generally been very well filmed, however I feel a bit cheated that no one died, a big diaster like that someone should have died, even if it was some recurring character, we no longer have any use for.

I'm glad nobody died. There is too much death in soaps and it's good that Neighbours doesn't kill people off so frequently as the others.

Although I was really hoping that Amber would get killed, I was disappointed that they decided to make dreary Amber and Daniel engaged.

I think it is fine that nobody died. Natural disasters like that do happen (even in the UK) and the damage to property is immense and affects people's lives enough without there needing to be a death. And indeed, statistically very few people do die in such events unless it is something massive like the Boxing Day Tsunami and this wasn't in the same league.

I agree, there should have been some kind of unannounced shock, wither a return, a set destroyed, or a death. But thats the one area Neighbours are very poor at.

Neighbours doesn't kill off anyone really. Not even 1 a year. I mean just think how many have moved to Queensland. LOL.

Doesn't kill anyone - really? Both harold's children and his daughter in law and grand daughter. Jim Robinson, Julie Robinson, Paul's first wife, one of his children, Madge Bishop. Kate Ramsey just a couple of months ago. I'm sure I could list dozens more if you gave me a few minutes.

Kate dying maybe why no one died this time, its a fairly recent death, another one so sooner would not be Neighbours.

Also dont forget Kate was killed in revenage for the death of another character.

And how many of those happened 10+ years ago?

I think at least one character has died nearly every year since 2000, whether they be minor or major. It's just with Neighbours, it doesn't always feel like it, as other soaps kill off characters more frequently.

2000: Brendan Bell (Tess' violent husband who died in the motor bike crash)
2001: Madge Bishop
2002: Drew Kirk
2003: Dee Bliss
2004: Gus Cleary
2005: David, Liljanna & Serena Bishop; Alex Kinski
2006: Cameron Robinson
2007: Stingray Timmins
2008: Marco Silvani; Richard Aaronow (Declan & Oliver's abusive father)
2009: Bridget Parker; Jill Ramsay; Bob (the dog)
2010: Ringo Brown
2011: Jim Dolan
2012: Troy Miller
2013: Priya Kapoor; Rhys Lawson; Robbo Slade; Jack Lassister
2014: Kate Ramsay

Neighbours have always featured less deaths than the other soaps although this is probably down to the fact they have a much smaller cast than the British soaps. Home and away also has a small cast and they kill people off all the time but they have a gangster culture so murder is a lot more common. Neighbours is a lot more family orientated and domestic than home and away these days.
