That's not the point, if every single comment about a certain character is a negative comment, that clearly shows they're an unpopular character, therefore why should they be on the show if they aren't liked by the fans? WE watch the show and however much dtc likes tosh, doesn't mean the people watching the show are going to feel the same way. I love the EastEnders cast, it has really strong characters, but also some very weak ones, every single character should be a vibrant character, played by a very good actor/actress, however some of the current characters aren't. Lee, tosh and Donna are good examples of this. When you're running a show as big as EastEnders, it's important that every single character plays an important part on the show. Bringing in characters like lee, and having such a poor actor play them just isn't good enough. Putting the character in a cheesy relationship, and have them stalk a girl for months, is an insult to viewers! Soap operas should create the best of the best. Every character should be an enjoyable character the audience will love. Back in the 80's you would of cared if a character left EastEnders because they would play a big part in the show, and you as a viewer would care for the character! Can you honestly say the audience would bat an eyelid if tosh, lee, Donna, dexter, fatboy etc... Were to leave the show? Dtc has brought in some amazing characaters! Mick and linda are a perfect example of this! But some do the characters he has brought in just don't match up to the standards of EastEnders. Cardboard characters, weak acting, and atrocious writing is what's been wrong with many characters introduced to the show 2010 onwards.
