I think you're getting mixed up with affects of poisoning and allergic reactions to substances.
Some people are allergic to penicillin, while for most of us will react normally to it (in it's case, it's a cure).
Same for toxic substances too - some people will have an immediate allergic reaction while most of us will just have a normal reaction (even though it will kill us)

Just to add what to what everyone's said about the hints about Declan....

I wish Megan did drink it though, serves her right for just waltzing into the house and helping herself to stuff that isn't hers.

When the Police issue you with a directive to not contact someone in anyway, thats it full stop...Megan is stuffed unless Declan owns up..her own stupid fault..

Its difficult to have any sympathy with the Mad Mule that is Megan. But surely poison is not a man's weapon plus its pretty obvious if Charity karked Drecklan would be prime suspect as her husband? I dont think he would be so stupid. He would get her bumped off by the thugs he got to rough up Dopy Dan.

I think you're right as well. It was never going to be Megan, was it and it makes perfect sense. It's Declan's way at getting back at Charity for aborting his baby.

Maybe Declan has chosen a 'woman'4 12*@+,' to deflect blame from himself? He may even have a grudge against Megan too and be setting her up?

Yes the husband is always a suspect but not always charged and Charoty has a lot of known enemies - Megan being the most obvious.

It was his concern that alerted me to him being the culprit as it seems so out of character and over the top and anyway the clues are there IE Declan went to see his solicitor about how to get out of the pre nup and realised he couldn't and he more or less made it clear to Megan he was going to have his revenge and practically begged her to stay away and out of it.

Megan made herself the easy villain to blame...why would the Police look beyond her for a motive and opportunity...the way she spoke to the police was vile and wont help.

I watch to many crime shows and on most of them the experts always says poison is a womans preference

I think Declan and Megan are in this together.Declans knows what Charity did regarding the abortion and hes going to make her pay. Hes not wrapped to tight Declan

The police in Hotton are useless. Charity told them she was being poisoned, yet Megan didn`t go to Home Farm until a few days after Charity was feeling ill. So it couldn`t have been Megan poisoning the wine.
Also, Declan has access to pesticides....Megan doesn`t.
I didn`t like the way Noah spoke to Megan the day he was poisoned...cheeky brat. That`s his Aunt. I would`ve got a proper leathering if I had spoken to a relative the way he did when I was 9.

Even if it's impossible as Charity was already poisoned before Megan turned up at Home Farm


Oh I like this and can actually see it to be the case. Declan pretty much told Megan he was up to something when he was asking her to back off. I'm sure he said Charity would pay and he seems annoyed that she keeps turning up, like he doesn't want her to get blamed / mixed up in it. For her part she is a bit of a loose cannon at the moment but could just be playing that as she knows what is really going on Or this could be just far too subtle for Emmerdale.

BIB: I completely agree, I've been thinking this for a while now. I think he's being quite protective of her in an extreme way. The restraining order would have kept her away so that she couldn't be implicated in his revenge, and I think he was willing to get her arrested when she turned up on Monday to try and make sure she'd be out of the way.

I don't think that she's in on it with him, but it would be a pretty good twist if she was.

Yes, it's not so clear that she is involved though that would be a great twist if so but Declan is definitely being very protective of Megan. I thought what with him beating her and nearly killing her in the fire it would be pretty outrageous if he now framed her for poisoning Charity
