Don't know if it's already been mentioned but Bend Me Shape Me by Amen Corner was originally by The American Breed.

One of the most annoying is people thinking Kylie's 'Locomotion' is original .. well more shocking than annoying really. Little Eva's version being so much better. And yes .. I can't count the times I've heard 'This Woman's Work' being attributed to Maxwell!! It's an outrage!! They should get community service at the very least!

For years I never realised that Grace Jones's 'Private Life' was a cover. The original being recorded by The Pretenders and written by Chrissie Hynde.

Although I did know the B side (She's Lost Control) was a Joy Division song.

It Must Be Love by Madness was originally by Labi Siffre. He actually appears in a small cameo towards the end of the Madness video.

Already mentioned but Amy Winehouse's cover of Valerie effectively killed the Zutons career.

Not originally Randy Crawford's song as I first thought, but done by somebody called Turley Richards a year before her version.
