Started getting the dreaded "you seem to be using a proxy or unblocker service" messages today.
Have emailed unblock us and they gave me 2 new DNS numbers.
I still get the error unfortunately.
Same for me too. Saw it for the first time tonight on the New Zealand region. Contacted unblock us and was given the new dns addresses like yourself. Still didn't work so I thought I would give Canada a try, that worked fine first time. Changed back to New Zealand but still recieved the message. After about five minutes New Zealand started working again.

Seems hit and miss - at least you can see whats on them (as you get the message when pressing play) so u can make a list of things to get

Easier to just get the stuff u were watching some other way and stick a USB in your smart tv / games console.

Too unreliable now so I stick to uk netflix

USA and Canada seem to be harder to get into vs somewhere like Belgium - but perhaps its just 'the luck of the draw' if it works or not...

Well I use Unotelly and it all still works for me. I mostly use US and Canada and I have not had any problems?

Still emailing unblock support.
They gave me a whole load of hoops to jump through, which I did.

Basically i play a US programme and it sometimes works and sometimes gives me the error.
If I get the error I go back and try again.
After a few times of seeing the error, I get in.
Not great but OK for now

I've not had any problems, though I never change regions, got the UK one on my bluray player and the US via unblock-us on Apple tv.

I do wonder if people are panicking for no reason. I sometimes get a unavailable region used to happen a lot with the newly added regions, Germany, Australia etc I just put it down to Gremlins in the works. I do wonder if it's still happening and people are assuming it's NF clamping down and blocking DNS services. Because "touch wood" since all this has started I've yet failed to change and view a region, where we keep getting stories from people that NF are blocking them. Surely if it's a concerted effort by NF to stop DNS services, we all should be experiencing problems.

I have had no problems watching netflix and changing regions. I use unblockus on my Samsung bluray.

What has happened though is that I can no longer watch Amazon Prime.if it is on an unblockus setting. It displays a message that I can only view the content if I am in the UK, so I have change my IP back to its original setting to watch amazon.

Check with Unblock-us. I know some Smart DNS providers (Getflix, OverPlay and UnoTelly) have a switch for Amazon regions in their settings so you can set it between UK, US, DE and JP, but not sure of how Unblock-us do it.

(Note: This doesn't switch a single account between regions like it would for Netflix, but if you have a UK account, you need to set it to UK, and if you have both a UK and US account, you can switch between them)

Hmmm, it could be a problem with Unblock-us and Prime on some devices.

Prime UK and US are completely separate, so it is possible that Unblock-us doesn't need a switch for Prime if they only support the UK and US versions. But Prime UK and DE are tied together. This is because they were originally Lovefilm services before Amazon bought them out, and they shared servers. So, OverPlay, Getflix and UnoTelly also support DE, which is why they needed the switch.

I have just tested it now. Prime lets me in okay but when I select a film to watch I get this message:

'You must be in the United Kingdom to purchase or access content from Amazon Video.'

As i said my earlier post this is new and only started about two weeks ago. So somehow Amazon knows I am using unblock us but Netflix still lets me do it

That's because when you use the DNS your services automatically assume your in the US as the ip is different to the UK.
The only difference where Netflix is concerned is that your able to use the region changer, without the region changer Netflix would also see you as in the US.

So, the steps I would do to check would be as follows:

1) Can you access Amazon prime UK from another device (e.g. Roku, Smart TV, Android or iOS phone/tablet, Xbox, PlayStation, Webpage etc).

If you can from those devices, but not from your Fire TV, then you know the problem is localised with your Fire TV. If not from any device, then the problem is related to something else.

2) Switch off Smart DNS (so you are 100% in the UK, presuming of course, you are actually in the UK). Reboot the Fire TV. Does Prime now work for UK content? If so, the problem is likely to be your Smart DNS provider, if not, the problem could be with your Prime account.

I have tried on numerous occasions to follow the steps provided by Unblockus. Sadly I still get the same message reported on my Pansonic TV. "You are using a Proxy " etc.

Cancelled the subscription to Unblockus

Did you try it on other devices other than your tv?

Can't try on my Nexus as the BT hub will not allow the DNS change. I'll give other devices a try.

That was my thoughts until tonight, netflix us and UK blocked through unblockus with the error message you are using a proxy etc. Disable it. Thankfully the Canada region still worked so could watch my show on that.

Seems strange that all the complaints are from people using unblockus - are they doing something different that is sending a red flag?

Haven't had any of these problems using cheap as chips adfreetime.

Probably just targeted as they are one of the more popular ones. A bit like when bein sports started their game of whack a mole a couple of years ago.

I've found when I get the message, if I keep pressing ok in quick succession the selected video eventually plays. I've done this every time I've got the message, and every time the video has played after around 5 tries. I'm using unblock-us.
