Why sell once for 100 beans when you can sell over and over again for 40 beans.

That's why there's no free global market.

It's a shame that they don't believe in the power of the free market. The days of wanting to spend £50 a month on TV are on the wane, and not even Sky's years-late modernisation of its TV STB is going to help.

The people who can't get what they want from Netflix will just pirate again, they won't all be having Sky reinstalled. One day, the TV and movie companies will get it, just as the music companies eventually did re: cheap MP3s and services like Spotify
Companies only go on about free markets if it means they save money or then can make more money. They don't care about consumers saving money and it's rare for governments to either, especially when big companies spend so much money on lobbying.

I just got the message about using an unblocker on my Roku when trying to watch US Netflix. I am using unblock-us and have their DNS sever set in my router with a block rule on Googles DNS. though it still works on my Chromebook PIxel LS for now.

My ad free time smart DNS seems to have been blocked on the NBC Live Extra site. I can still access their channels using the same account on the Xfinity site though.

For people using android devices, try signing out of google account before using your vpn.

What version of windows are you using? I have the Netflix app for Windows 10 and since the latest update I have problems with sound mostly associated by Dolby 5.1 which strangely makes the picture judder sometimes as well? This has nothing to do with VPN's etc though. It is a fault that both Microsoft and Netflix are aware of.

on Windows 7 but worked fine when connecting normally.

its only when i connect using tunnelbear that it wouldnt let me play videos outside the UK.

So iv just cancelled account and watch everything on showbox for free now. Their loss.

wouldn't that have been the cheaper/better option in the first place?

It would but a lot of people wanted to pay something for Netflix so the studios would at least get something, now the studios greedy behaviour has cost them probably a lot of that revenue.

I doubt that its affecting the studios one bit, they're selling content on a region by region basis which Netflix have budgeted for. How many potential customers viewing from outside that region doesn't even come into it.
The only potential loss is going to be seen by Netflix from other regions outside of where certain content is available.

In the short term yes, but less income for Netflix means less income for the studios in the long run.

It's not going to be a huge loss of income for Netflix. They have 70 million subscribers worldwide. I would say a fraction of those would use VPNs. Not sticking up for them, by the way. Just providing some balance.

Hard to say how many use Smart DNS/VPNs. As you say it will be a minority, how big of a minority who knows. Certainly quite a few though, it's spawned a whole new industry.

With Netflix, Other users from my family and friends could use my account legally and i thought for £6.99 a month it wasnt bad and with my tunnelbear i could access various variations of Netflix.

Some things are not available on Showbox though i dare say somewhere online they are, but while i dont really care about the legality of using Showbox others in my family would and did.

but as it was my account and as Netflix have started blocking vpns, i made the decision to stop my account and save myself £6.99 and watch it on Showbox.

If my family and friends dont agree, thy are welcome to join theirselves or if they do can download showbox amongst others cinemabox(playbox) and cartoon hd to name a few

Of course Netflix are only doing what they are being pressured into doing and to be honest abiding by their contracts but while i am sure there will be many like me who have or are thinking of cancelling, there will be probabley double, treble or quadruple joining.

^^But you shouldn't really be sharing your NF account with friends and really only family living at the same address.

I'm not at all surprised that some of those who have been using unblocking services would think the price they pay is far too much and they need to share their account around to recoup some of the outrageous cost. Remember for a lot of these people Netflix is competing against free illegal download sites and services.

Canada has a broader deal with Disney than anywhere else, it's apparently the only region getting Star Wars- The Force Awakens this year.

Definitely something wrong with ad-freetime. App on iPhone just disappears. I got into my account on my pc and under self service where all the netflix regions were there is now nothing. Just a blank page. However I was last on Canada Netflix and it still works so looks like I am literally stuck on Canada region. May try to E mail the support team.
