Been using unotelly fine for past month - now getting error u 800 3 on both shield tv's with region set to usa.

Roku's wont load either.

PC'S gone as well as 4k netflix app built into tv !

Dave
Check on your Unotelly account that your IP address registered against your account is up to date, as when using DNS services for Netflix, the error code you mention is usually an IP address out of date and needs updating.

Once updated, Netflix should work again.

Hi

Thanks for that - still no luck - had this reply from uno telly.
Thank you for your email and we are sorry to hear about your inconvenience.

UnoTelly is a general DNS and VPN service so we cannot guarantee access to the website you indicated. However, we will try our best to ensure you have stable access to UnoTelly privacy protection service. "

I can still access other us websites fine - cbs.com / Comcast etc - so looks like a Netflix specific issue.

Will only be a matter of time before this new borderless internet gets caught out too, sadly netflix are getting tough on this, hopefully it is just a storm in a teacup and over time it will die down a bit.
As of today ibvpn vpn on netflix is hit and miss canada, usa seem to be working but others aren't.
Every other site cw,hulu, nbc, fox etc is working fine.

I have a spare router (asus) - my main router is an asus ac68.

Is it possible to set up a second wireless network for uk netflix on my devices ? At the moment even uk netflix wont work (I have a sub for this) because of the dns settings.

Would the uk settings be in the first router - and the usa dns settings in the 2nd (added on router) - or wouldn't it matter ?

My unotelly works fine for cbs, comcast, hulu etc.

Can I just plus my 2nd router into my first - and have a uk wireless network and also a usa wireless network at same time - would make life so much easier.

Does anybody have any "idiot proof" instructions on how to do this ? And I mean very very simple - what to plug in where - and what changes to make in the 2nd asus router.

Yes this is possible . Just connect the 2nd router to the first router via the Internet socket on the second router. Also if you have a box such as a youview box ensure it is connected to the first router as I found trying to use Netflix via a non uk connection on youview causes problems.

Viperdns is another good option which I've just started using. Cheaper than most of the others too.
Is Viperdns still working for you? I have just started the trial and it does work. I am worried that if i start the paid service it will become blocked after a while (although you can just pay a couple of months at a time).

My trial just expired today but it worked perfectly when I was using it. I'm just going to take up a monthly sub in case it does stop working at any point.

Yes this is possible.

Connect using an ethernet cable, the 2nd routers Internet port on the back to one of the ethernet ports on the 1st router.

Configure the 2nd routers LAN settings so that this router uses a different IP address range of the first router.

Such as,

Router 1 - 192.168.0.1 - 192.168.0.254
Router 2 192.168.1.1 - 192.168.1.254
This stops any potential NAT errors (Network Address Translation) which will stop things working.

In the WAN settings of the 2nd router, set this as 'Automatic IP' this will allow the 2nd router to get an IP address from the 1st router. Leave any other WAN settings as they are defaulted.
This is what mine looks like if it helps - http://c00kie.d.pr/1hNq1/2SObPUht

I use an Asus RT AC68U as my router running off the shitty ISP one, but its all set up the same way as you need to do.

Set up your ISP or other UK based DNS on the 2nd router and reboot the router.

Try connecting to the Wifi of the 2nd router and everything is hopefully working and you have internet which isn't using the DNS of Unotelly

Give me a shout if you need any further help.

So I have V Media Superhub in Modem Mode - then I connect the first router (this will be the uk dns that virgin media assigns me) - then I connect a second router to that one which will be set up with uno telly dns - is that correct ?

Yep thats it.

Set up the 2nd router's LAN IP address changes first by using a computer connected to the router by ethernet so its all ready to go when you connect it to the 1st router.

Up until yesterday I was using BI which worked great on the majority of my devices but didn't work on my PS4. So when my trial expired yesterday, I signed up for a free trial to Viper and it works great on my PS4 and other devices, in fact it works so great that it is near enough instant when switching regions via the site. For the time being it is great having access to other regions again.

I'd had no problems with Getflix up to this point using their standard US1 or whatever it is, finally got the "you're using a proxy and we're now a shitheel company and don't like that" message so switched to the 3rd US option and all good again, turns out my wife had been watching Netflix with our default Swedish IP for a while so that probably is what tipped them off!

It seems that issues only arise when watching something that's not supposed to be in your native region which is when you may get the proxy error if they've detected your're using one, some smartdns is working fine, some isn't, it's hit and miss all around.

I am sorry I have not had that experience at all. On the brief times I have had the proxy message it has stopped me from watching all titles not just the titles not available in the UK.

Hi

Ok - got the old Asus RTN56 set up with uk dns as supplied by VM - Superhub is in modem mode - cable to rtn56 - all works ok.

Then ethernet cable from RTN56 to Asus AC68 (going into the port that the superhub cable used to go into)

The AC68 is already configured for Uno Telly DNS as that is what I was using before I added the rtn56 into the mix.

But the second router (the ac68) shows in wireless networks but says no internet access ?

Also I use 192.168.1.1 to access the rtac68 before I added the rtn56 - but using that now just gives me access to the rtn56 settings - do I have to unplug the rtn56 router to get access to the ac68 settings ?

Sorry for daft questions - got myself in a bit of a mess !

All sorted ( i think) - went another pc and got a "dns address" error message asking did I want it to give the ac68 a new ip address - clicked on this and it all seems to work ok.

I changed from uno telly as it hasn't really worked for the last month to a new dns provider - and netflix usa is back.........for now

Thank you for everybodys help.

Yep, Viperdns is the best one I've used so far. Only downside is I can't exploit free trials with different email addresses like I could with Borderless Internet

Lol, I have no issue with paying for the service, should such a time come when Netflix offer the same content regardless of region, but up their cost by say a couple quid each month, then once again I would have no issue paying for that privilege. But until this happens, then these DNS services are superb in giving value for money.

I could watch Daredevil no problem (which I assume is available to all regions?) then I tried to watch Welcome to Leith and got the proxy error, tried Daredevil, no problem, tried Welcome to Leith again, proxy error. Welcome to Leith is not available to Netflix Sweden which is my geographic IP if they see through my Smartdns.

I have seen some other posters say this but with me it has always blocked all content including the Netflix originals. This is why some users are annoyed because they are using a VPN for security reasons not to bypass geographic restictions. Netflix must be blocking different people in different ways?

oh dear looks like vipdns is now being blocked...getting the proxy error when trying to view netflix us. Oh well back to borderless internet, that's if their website isn't currently being DDoS'd LOL

Apparantly Netflix have rolled out a new system. It seems ALL systems are being blocked at the moment.
Borderlass and Unlocator + SmartDNSProxy are all working on it. Others too I believe.
