oh dear looks like vipdns is now being blocked...getting the proxy error when trying to view netflix us. Oh well back to borderless internet, that's if their website isn't currently being DDoS'd LOL
Apparantly Netflix have rolled out a new system. It seems ALL systems are being blocked at the moment.
Borderlass and Unlocator + SmartDNSProxy are all working on it. Others too I believe.
Yep, Borderless currently working on it. They have, so far, overcome previous attacks, so hoping they come through this one along with the other guys as well.

Yes, Netflix seem to be determined to lose customers.
Wouldn't mind if they were honest and didn't try to spin a load of BS about all regions having the same amount of choice!

Even worse is they are even pissing off those customers that use VPN's for privacy only.

My unlocator sub worked faultlessly for about 3 weeks but recently it's been absolutely useless for watching US Netflix!

(I believe these SmartDNS services are all finished now... Netflix has beaten em)

It was nice while it lasted, so until the DNS / VPN companies dins a way around this, I will still continue to use Netflix UK & for everything else, I will just use Kodi.

Ive emailed the dns company i use as there netflix settings had disappeared they are saying as of today they have officially stopped supporting netflix.

I don't actually blame them i think trying to be one step ahead of netflix is more trouble than its worth

Plenty of other services imo hulu being a very good replacement for Netflix, also others are launching from the likes of comcast.

I use Unlocator to watch UK Netflix in Cyprus and ran into the latest block on my ATV, and smart TV today. But I managed a work around. Airplay from my iPad to the ATV works for some reason, so I'm still in the game for the time being, but looks like I'll eventually can my sub and use Kodi instead.

Try entropay Hulus free service is pretty good though just means waiting a week after air for most shows.
nbc, cbs and cw do not require tv logins and can be accessed with a smart dns too.

It is worth pointing out that Hulu went through a period where they were trying to block VPN's and proxies as well.

Going back to my using 2 routers - 1 for us dns and 1 for usa dns.

Ive got into a bit of a mess...........all seemed to be working fine - until I realised I wasn't showing as connectable on some torrent site - download speeds are very good - upload speeds very good - but not connectable ??

So I started trying to forward ports - big mistake - I have no idea what I'm doing !

I thought I had forwarded the port utorrent was using - but when I went to check it says it timed out and is not working ??

Same with blocking public dns services for smart dns service - do I need to block them in BOTH routers or just the usa one ? Is my ip address the one that shows in "whats my ip" - or the one in the web browser when I am accessing the asus ac68 router - so confused about all this at the moment............

Verizon already block smart dns, you can't even log into verizon if you use a smart dns it just gives you a wrong password message, a vpn works fine though.

Smartflix have posted this on their site:

"Following the very recent, extremely aggressive and targeted VPN/proxy crackdown by Netflix, we do not feel confident we can provide the same quality of service we used to provide to our users.
For this reason, we've decided to cancel all subscriptions. We have also disabled the app to all new and trial users.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. —The entire Smartflix Team"

Sounds like the end...?

Thing is i'm sure like me many use their smart dns for other things besides netlix hulu, cw, fox, getting around torrent site blocks and so one.
Netflix are just cutting of their nose to spite their face.

Does seem a strange move to expend so much effort (and presumably expense) on doing something that will inevitably drive many of their customers away.

So they must think that it'll be worth it in the long run in terms of keeping licence holders happy.

Just more antics from greedy studios trying to control our internet imo.

The same idiotic greedy studios that release films in the USA like Gods of Egypt in February but don't allow it to get a UK release until June. They must really stupid to think that people in the UK are going to wait that long when there are perfectly legal & illegal ways of watching it at home without the need of going to the cinema.

I guess the tools in Hollywood, will next stop the likes of Amazon & import sites from selling films to the UK that are not yet due for release outside of the USA.

I've said it all along it's high time judges grew a pair and started saying no to these studios requesting blocking of sites etc.
If the studios had a single braincell between them they would release movies across the world very soon after the USA release but this would take some common sense, something most studios seem to be lacking.
As for Netflix they are digging their own grave but hey why would they listen to their customers for? Afterall it is only us who are paying Netflix.

The ridiculous thing is that this is blocking people who *want* to pay for content - and is encouraging them to 'steal' it elsewhere.

If Netflix lose subscribers it will drive down the prices they pay for content - whilst consumers get it for free.

I do wonder if in the background, there's deals being made between studios and Netflix to get content quicker and exclusivity. Otherwise Netflix seem to be doing all they can to hurt it's user base.
