![]() As already mentioned in the thread, there is no need to use Unblock-US (or similar service) via the router - just set the DNS on the actual device(s) you use Netflix on instead. A quick physical patch between the HH5 and a second router will be much easier than delving into the Sony menu each time I want to change over. |

I use Netflix with Cactus VPN smart DNS service on my laptop, tablet, smart TV and PS3, and have noticed recently that I am getting the "Netflix is not available in your location" message a lot more. Is anyone else seeing this?
I think, despite the protestations of Netflix, they are actually starting to crack down on VPN/DNS use. |

I think, despite the protestations of Netflix, they are actually starting to crack down on VPN/DNS use. As that message seems to come and go, I think its just an error that can simply be resolved by restarting the app. |

I can connect to all Netflix countries with tunnelbear no problem, sometimes a few tries when on giffgaff mobile and no probs on virgin broadband wifi

HH5 uses - 192.168.1.XX So your other router would need to be on something like - 192.168.0.XX so there's no conflict between routers. The 2nd router also has to be set up as Dynamic IP so that it gets allocated a LAN IP from the HH5 and this 2nd router will not control your internet connection. Make sure when you change between routers that you update the video content so the UK apps are displayed again ![]() Something like a NowTV box might be easier though, and is cheaper than a 2nd router and is simply plug n play

It was only a matter of time before they started clamping down on the VPN/DNS users as around half of the Netflix subscribers seem to be doing it. I've only ever done it on my tablet as it sounded more complicated on my laptop and blu-ray player and I only used it to access the US version. Have to say I wasn't amazed by the content available on the US equivalent especially the TV shows, the film selection was better but lately it seems UK Netflix have updated their film library a lot bringing it much closer to what the US version offers.

Hmmmm...
If Netflix starts closing accounts - which I doubt they'll do - hopefully they will do it in this order.
- Those subscribers from non-Netflix regions using VPN's, for example China, Spain, Russia etc. Should keep them busy. - Then VPN users from official Netflix regions. - Then SmartDNS users, like me. Of course they may end up offering a Global service in a few years time which would solve everything. This article was quite interesting. |

I don't think they'll ever have a 'global service'. It's just not possible. In the UK for example a lot of film rights are sewn up by Sky. Netflix are not going to deny the rest of the world these films, just because they haven't/can't get the rights in the UK.
I imagine these new T&Cs might just be paying lip service to rights holders in various countries and may not actually be enforced. Fingers crossed anyway. |

I would expect a high-profile case of someone being kicked off the service and used as an "example" in order to appease the studios, and then Netflix quietly forgetting about it.

If Netflix do start monitoring what we're up to ie traveling to different countries with lightning speed, then one way around it is to add extra profiles and just make sure you use each profile for your preferred regions. That way it should raise less suspicion.

It really would be a case of cutting of their nose to spite their face, however i don't think netflix would close accounts i think the change is to stop studios moaning. |

Netflix for a global media giant are a decent company and a bullwark against Beelzebub, all this has arisen because of too much talk about it, Netflix will be forced into taking action, probably not a good idea to publicise/boast about any work arounds.
