Seriously, can someone tell me why emmerdale feels the need to make hour long epsiodes for absolutely no reason at all? Whenever EastEnders starts to rise in the ratings, they're knocked down again by these stupid clashes, and there's another one on Tuesday!

because it's their right to schedule their programme in exactly the way that ITV choose?

itv don't want a strong eastenders especially as their northern soaps are not really doing the business at the mo, itv think denting eastenders will help. how misguided are they?
all they do is p**s the soap auidence off. the majority of the auidence watch both emdale and ee.

it bugs me. I watch both. these clashes are irritating.

do itv have a schedule, i thought they just threw it together.

Record one then watch it later?

I'm pretty sure they have schedulers yes but hey anything that pi**es all over the BBC get my vote.

There is usually a good reason...namely Football........though not nearly a good enough reason for me..............

It's quite stupid to make them clash. Everyone knows EastEnders will get more viewers.

i bet on your telly pat you have thick black tape over the bbc1 button so you can't watch it.

No not at all because I have realised over the last few days that there are things that I care about that are bigger than the soaps, and for the record that isn't a dig towards anyone here - I'm still on a forum after all and still enjoy them but it wouldn't upset me or annoy me, life would go on.

I genuinely haven't watched the BBC in a long time (in the way I use to) I do use iplayer for the shows I enjoy, GBBO, but I look for my news coverage and such else where.

not as a rule, however eastenders had a good week so you never know??

yeah fair enough! I do get a bit annoyed but only because I don't have digital telly and if I'm in I like my soaps lol!

I do like emmerdale but itv need to stop clashing it with eastenders because emmerdale will more than likely win as it starts first, and it effects the eastenders ratings for the rest of the week...
