Michael Moon is right down there. Can't get much worse than plotting to murder your daughter's mother. Oh, and he wanted to know his son when it suited him.

Mick Carter for the best.

No competition for worst- Patrick Black is currently keeping his insane daughter locked under a school and the other day used the phrase "Iron out the defects in Nico and the baby"

Best- Mr C

Its very hard to work out his clear feelings and relationship with his daughter ...sometimes i think he finds her a burden ....even though he can be protective he can also disown her for months on end....

They dont seem to have a overly loving relationship ....very little affection .

Max Branning i would agree with too , although at least he has the girls now Tanya buggered off .

All time worst must be Trevor Jordache.
However not including pedophiles, Patrick Blake.

Best would probably be Mick Carter or Masood.

Trevor Jordache, what a b*stard he was, he use to scare me s*itless when i was a kid, i was surprised when i found out recently he was only in Brookside for about 2 months, seemed so much longer as he had such an impact on the show.

I'm sure I read he was only in 11 episodes.
Damn impressive, 11 episodes and widely regarded as one of the top 5 most evil uk soap characters.

It is impressive, shows what a great actor he was and what a strong writing team Brookside had at that time that a character who appeared in 11 episodes has had such an impact and is remembered so fondly if that is the right word so many years later.

He had a daughter actually, who he raised for the first few months when Janine ran off. Janine also murdered her daughter's father.

Trevor Jordache has to be number 1. To be fair to Patrick, he has had a tough time of it.

I'm surprised Danny Lomax hasn't been mentioned. He lied to his ill daughter so that he could get away with his affair.

Janine didn't plan to kill him. There was probably a split second when she could have ran rather than stabbing him. He however plotted to kill her over a number of weeks.

Michael is Tommy's biological father. He was so selfish that he thought he could just waltz in demanding to see him once the rest of the family had turned against him because he almost got his brother killed. He also decided to tell Tommy the truth because Janine had fled with Scarlett. That wasn't fair on Tommy or on Alfie, who had loved him like his own. Michael had assured Alfie he wouldn't come marching in and then he pulled a stunt like that, when Tommy was only 2 and a half!

Yeah his wife finally revealing that he's an abusive git and leaving him for his son. Doesn't make him come off as a better person though.

Was tempted to put him Alfie but I'm split on him at the moment. Can't deny that he's good with the kids and loves them to bits but I'm so disappointed at the character assassination. Maybe if he hadn't been footing the bill for Michael's kid, he'd have had enough to stop him resorting to such desperate measures!

I mean Anna and hiding the incest secret even though Dodger is being pretty annoying acting like he has some rights. He didn't even believe Maxine at first; I can't think of a time where Dodger has genuinely done something to help Maxine. Yes it's better than being abused but that's no excuse!

Whether she planned it or not, she murdered him. That bit was clear when she lift that towel up to grab the knife.
Its clear Michael had mental health issues due to his mother's suicide, he broke down quite a few times, he loathed himself.

I suppose he took Tommy on as his own because Michael didn't really want to know and he is also part of Kat and Alfie loves her and wanted to support her!

It is hard to like Alfie at the moment because of what has happened to Kat but I know in his heart of hearts he really didn't mean it!

David Platt is a pretty good father figure to Max and Lily - despite his faults. I'd say Mick Carter is the overall best, especially for how he handled Johnny's coming out.

Max Branning for the worst, in my opinion. He never seems to learn from his mistakes or consider how his actions impacts his family.
