I hope not.
It's Psi that worries me. I understand a lot of people like him because of the computer mind, and it isn't something that has been done on Who, but it's what makes me a little wary of him. It seems like a 90's throwback to cyber-punk. Johnny Mnemonic/Ghost in the Shell/ Neuromancer/Ergo Proxy. I know a few of those are classics in their own right, but I personally find the whole concept of computerised brain and deleted memories have grown a little stale - and trite.
Saying that - the deleted memories, and past could have saved him as a character. But now he has them again, not sure there is a story - or character growth with him. If they developed that throughout the series, and had him recover his childhood or something and be conflicted about it - or shocked by his past brutality or deeds or something - he could have been a very powerful character. I dunno.
He might be good as a companion - but at the same time I think they've already destroyed the thing that could have set him apart.
