Am I the only person who thinks its unfair that Peter Barlow is blaming Jim McDonald for his alcohol woes! As he put it to Tracey "It was Jim McDonald who supplied all the booze and in a manner of speaking it was thanks to him that I nearly died!" Excuse me but Peter approached Jim in the first place begging him for alcohol; Jim had no idea that Peter was a recovering alcoholic and to please Peter, Jim gave him the booze. I am sorry but Peter should take responsibility for his own actions and stop blaming other people and don't forget, Peter was watching Jim to see where he was hiding the booze and stole it from under the cupboard - it had nothing to do with Jim the time that Peter collapsed; as we all know, Jim did in fact save Peter's life. I cannot understand why everyone is blaming Jim and not seeing that Peter is equally guilty; Peter is a grown man and should take responsibility for his own actions. I also don't understand why Steve has now decided to disown his own father- its not as if JIm forced the booze down Peter's neck! I used to like Peter but he has now gone down in my estimations of him. What do others think?

That is Peter's character. He does that all the time when things go wrong for him

Peter is a useless drunk who is beyond control. Things like burning down your house and nearly killing your son would be enough for most people to stop drinking altogether but not Peter...a promise means nothing to this man......he always has and always will blame everyone but himself. However, that said, Jim did click that Peter was desperate and used it to his advantage but (as I missed a couple of episodes) it's my understanding that Peter broke went into Jim's cell, found his stash and drank it all and THATS what led to Peter being hospitalised - his utter greed for drink....not Jim over supplying...Right???

I'm really bored of the Peter character. It's always the same.

I always had a bit of a crush on Peter, it's the Codependent in me :-/ totally agree though this story line annoys me, Pete needs to get a grip n stop playing victim, Jim had tried to limit him and would have preferred that he didn't drink anyway as he kept going off the rails. It's disappointing, I don't like seeing Steve sad either, with his little rubiks cube

I think Prison Peter has been looking gorgeous, but agreed that it's not Jim fault for his problems. Peter has always had these issues and continues to blame everyone but himself.

Addicts never accept responsibility. It's what keeps them addicts.

Peter has always blamed someone or something else when anything has gone wrong.

Unfortunatly that's the addict in him speaking.
Unless he gets his addiction under control he will never be any different.

He plays a great, believable part in my opinion.

Almost right. The drinks weren't hidden in Jim's cell but in the prison kitchen and Peter followed Jim to discover where it was and then when no-one was about he went and stole it.

Never mind the booze, who is supplying the chip fat he rubs his hair with, looks disgusting.

I agree, but as another Post says, this is Peter's character and it is what he does. Saying that, Others should realise this and not turn against Jim.

Peter take responsibility? Haha, that will be the day, he is always blaming others for his actions.

I hope Jim gives him a good pasting. It isn't Jim's fault that Peter can't control himself and keeps pushing Simon away. Also I don't know what the Liz and Steve's problem is, Jim had robbed that building society to get Liz the pub and she also promised to wait up for him, yet were quick to treat him hostility when he wanted contact again.

Peter always blames everyone else for his own failings. Always. He expects everyone else to cover up for him, accept his lies, forgive him when he mucks up for the umpteenth time and always, always feel sorry for him. He is incapable of grasping that he's an adult who needs to take any sort of responsibility for himself.
He's never been any different.

If Liz was single now, she'd more than likely be calling Peter something shocking because she luvs Jim soeeeeeeer much.
And Steve would side with her because he always does. But Liz has got Tony so she has no need for Jim.

I think they're all behaving exactly as you would expect each of them to.
