New interview. Doesn't give masses away, but says that labels will be watching on the tour. There's also a shout-out to Ben and a dig at some nameless people who don't have the X-Factor!

It does mention changing the style and type of singer she is but doesn't really say what to. We'll have to wait for more details.”

I would be surprised if the labels weren't keeping their eyes on the contestants during the tour, which is why I said in my last post and a few other posts before that she has to be at her best on tour and give flawless performances, convince them why she deserves to get signed.

Her answer about the "x factor" made me google what the "x factor" is or at least what it is considered to be and this is one of the articles I found http://www.musicbizacademy.com/articles/gf_xfactor.htm . I agree with her that many people don't have the x factor and in my opinion she is one of those people who DON'T have it, but I still love her and her voice. To be honest, I don't know who from season 11 has the x factor, 1 or 2 people come to mind who might have it, but I am not even sure about them, it doesn't really matter though.

What some people forget these days is that you dont need the X factor to be successful but it helps

its like you dont need a degree to get a job but it helps

I am a little bit bored right now so I thought I would make a list of what Lauren's performances were my favourite ones and down to least favourite. I hope you guys will make one as well, I am curious to find out what you think, just for fun I will exclude the performances before the live shows, but you can add them if you want.

1. I know where I've been (sing off)
2. Smile
3. What a feeling
4. Happy
5. How will I know (live show)
6. Don't you worry child
7. Story of my life
8. Stay another day
9. There you'll be
10. Dark Horse
11. I'll be there
12. Clarity
13. Let it go

Maybe there are different kinds of "X-Factor"? I'd say Stevi Ritchie has an entertainment X-Factor - he's naturally very good at making you like him and want to watch him on stage. Despite a poor voice he came 6th (and wasn't bottom of the vote once) due to entertainment value.

And I'd say Lauren has a vocal X-Factor. While there may be lots of technically better singers, I haven't found anyone who's as pleasant to listen to. Probably lots of other voices are more powerful, can hit higher notes, can hold hold notes longer, etc. Lauren's the only one I've found that I can listen to over and over again. Why that is I'm not sure, but maybe that's a sort of X-Factor - an inexplicable reason why a person is really good to listen to or watch.

Lauren has got a bad case of tonsillitis and after the tour she is having them out and last night I looked what Tonsillectomy is and when I seen that singers are at a high risk I panicked and was crying and wow 10 pages

Nice to see I am not the only one with Let it go in the bottom 3 of my least favourite performances. It could have been so much better and probably one of my favourite performances if she sang it flawlessly, I remember listening to the movie version of that song on repeat for some reason...

Interesting point, I haven't thought of it that way. I am also not sure what it is about her voice that makes me want to listen to her again and again when I am in the right mood to do so.

I am slightly worried about how the surgery will affect her singing ability after reading this http://www.ohniww.org/tonsillectomy-singers-voice/ , but I think she will adjust and be just fine.

I don't know if they have rehearsals every day, but I guess she might have to miss a few more of them. It might be better if she rests for a few more days, the tour starts 13th of February anyway, so I think she has enough time.

I am very worried about her these days. In my opinion she should relax for just a few more days until she is back at 100%, do the rehearsals and get through the tour without any health issues and perhaps give her best performances so far, we all know she will have to, then HOPEFULLY get signed, do that surgery, adjust to the changes and start working hard on her music career. I believe she can do it.

EDIT: I spoke too soon, it looks like she is starting with her rehearsals today https://twitter.com/laurenplatt7/sta...54991892545536

She starts singing today yesterday was just to see where the tour rehearsals were and to meet fans

My opinion of Lauren's best performances on The X Factor.

1. Don't You Worry Child
2. Happy
3. What A Feeling
4. I Know Where I've Been
5. Dark Horse (I honestly don't get the controversy behind this performance apart from some bad dancing)
6. How Will I Know
7. I'll Be There
8. Smile
9. There You'll Be
10. The Story Of My Life
11. Stay Another Day
12. Let It Go
13. Clarity

What I think makes Lauren standout against most female singers on The X Factor and off it is that she has quite a deep voice, she doesn't need to use tricks and gimmicks to be interesting, and she doesn't need to constantly belt out Diva notes to be impressive, It's why I took to her personally anyway.

And hopefully Lauren will stop getting ill, it's quite shocking that someone who is a similar age to me is getting ill so often.

And I should stop posting on here now and give other people a chance lol.

That performance grew on me after a while (the same as Story of my life) and I kind of like them both now, the only reason Dark horse is so low on my list is because I prefer many other songs Lauren sang, it would have been even lower if she got my bottom 3 songs right though.

No need to stop, we don't mind I keep posting on this thread to keep it kind of active until we have new things about Lauren to write about.
(still patiently waiting for the "Lauren Platt got signed by -insert label name-" announcement, whenever or if it will happen)

This is probably why I love her, and because of her voice of course. Her being very easy on my eyes on the live shows just made me love her even more, although she didn't have to look pretty for me to love her (for example, I liked Sam Bailey because of those high notes and I kind of ignored her bad looks, in my opinion).

It is indeed strange to get ill so often. When I was her age, I usually got ill only because I wanted to, most of the time to have a good reason to skip school. I bet I could get Appendicitis if I was thinking about it a lot, it worked for my brother if that story is true.

It wasn't the performance but the VT. If the VT hadn't shown her struggling with the choreography it would have got positive reviews. But everyone laid into her for crying during the rehearsal, and then Brian Friedman got his dig in a few days later. At that time she seemed to really go down in popularity. Seemingly lost the momentum and never got it back. Afterwards interest shifted to Fleur/Ben, who weren't favourites before that.

TBH it did make me wonder whether she should maybe have waited a couple of years and practiced dancing before going on, so I do understand the reaction. But still, as I said at the time, in Dark Horse she was still the best singer on the night.

Yes, and the thing is she matches the way she sings a song to the meaning of the lyrics. She doesn't always try to impress, and I do think that was under-appreciated on the show. She's actually very versatile - actually connects with the meaning of the song perfectly which shows real artistry but maybe doesn't always come across as impressive.

So the most diva belting one is I Know Where I've Been, which comes from a (fictional) civil rights protest. So it's sung in a loud, defiant way. However There You'll Be is about somebody remembering her partner who died in a plane crash. So it's sung with a softer low tone to get across a quiet confidence that the person who died is always with her. Someone who was trying to impress would blast both of them out at jet engine volume, without considering what the song is saying.

If she does get signed and an album comes out, it should have a really good mix of different singing styles. Let's hope it does come out!

Oh the VT definitely helped kill Lauren's chances of winning on that night, I also think that because it was the best she ever did look on a live show for me personally, I feel that some jealousy from some of the female audience kicked in.

I think that Lauren will get signed, it's between her, Fleur, and SK to be the most successful from this series I think, and hopefully it will be Lauren.

I actually never fancied her at first until Dark Horse came around, it all changed from then lol, but of course I think we all would've stayed Lauren fans if she did look like Sam Bailey, or Hannah Barrett (who I did like in that series but I felt was underrated) because for me personally Lauren was the most engaging to watch.

Oh man, I wish...I really do. I have done some research the other day and the plane tickets to get me to London in March and back would cost me around 100£ (it isn't much, I know), then I would have to travel 46 miles from the airport to the O2 arena, twice, and the cheapest ticket price is 38.5£. Since I am jobless, I don't feel the need to spend too much money just to go to a concert
