Im so glad i watched the x factor in 2014.
I dont think id ever be as big a fan of lauren had i not. I might have liked her music but i wouldnt have connected with her i dont think

Same here and I am more than happy that I did. I wasn't planing to watch it this year, but I had changed my mind after I found out that my cousin is also watching this show. I usually watched this show just to be entertained by Simon's comments while hopefully having a pleasure to listen to at least 1 or 2 singers who were better than the other contestants without having to worry about who will win and who will come 2nd and 3rd because I knew I won't care about them anyway after the show is over.
This year was a different experience for me watching this show because I seemed to care too much about my 3 favourites, especially Lauren of course, and for the first time ever I will keep checking out their twitter accounts and be on the lookout for any news.
Yeah i used to have a favourite and then soon after the show finished i didnt care about them.
This is the first time ive really cared about a contestants career. Seeing her experience and being relatively close to her age i can understand and share the experience. I had a dream of being a pro footballer when i was younger but i never went for it as i didnt believe i could. So i can understand that she has had this dream for years and can sort of share it.
Ive never been a massive fan of a singer in my life let alone x factor. sure i liked music of certain artists and i purchase their songs if i like it but this is the first time i actually like the person as well as the music and want them succeed and me being a big fan

I believe she will succeed, we can only wait and hope that some bigger labels see what us platters see and are willing to invest in her career. Whatever happens, I will remain her fan.

I agree with you on that Dark Horse VT killing some of Lauren's support off, I can't help with the way that she looked on the night that some jealousy also creeped in because the attack that some of her detractors was giving her was just plain bizarre to say the least.
And with Jack he kind of reminded me of Ed Sheeran, and as I like Ed Sheeran's Music I felt that Jack was a wasted potential.
And without Simon as their mentor I think Ben would've done a Jamie Archer and finished around 6th to 8th place, and Fleur would've been lucky to get to live show 4.

According to a Q&A on twitter today, if she could have another song on tour, her choice would have been Dark horse (I personally would have chosen What a feeling, but that one would have worked out just fine as well I guess).

As long as she is old enough for it to be legal, then it doesn't matter how old you are. Sure, some people will look at you in a weird way if you are for example 40 and she is 17, but who cares what they think when you are doing nothing wrong.

I have no idea if x factor contestants are considered celebrities or not. Since I don't really have a favourite successful singer, my favourite celebrity would most likely have to be one of the well known great actors (hard to pick one) or maybe one of the great movie directors (I have about 2 or 3 favourites, although there are a few more directors whom I could consider to be great, I just can't remember most names without checking imdb).
I would love to be asked who is my favourite celebrity about 2 or 3 years from now and hopefully just being able to answer "Lauren Platt".

I think with that many people trying it on with her there would have to be tightened security.
Personally all these shows need to go for a few years and replaced by a good sitcom

Or documentaries following a agent who goes to bars and clubs scouting talent. Could have him explaining what he looks for and how he knows where there could be success.
Could have interviews of the acts singing at those venues who explain who they are what their day job is. How they are reacting to knowing a scout will be there
Watching the performances and the aftermath interviews with the scout saying what he thought to us and the singer's reaction. Seeing the scout give feedback and reaction to feedback.
Could at the end have all the chosen acts come on a special live show at fountain studios singing a few songs and the public voting on the winner who will release a song

I am enjoying this show much quite a lot so I hope it goes on for a few more years. The main thing I would change is to take the power of voting away from judges, let only the voters decide.
